Lomani Island Resort shimmers with elegance, a boutique adults only Fiji resort created especially for lovers. Speaking of which, “Lomani” is Fijian for “love”. Set in the gorgeous Mamanuca group of islands, Lomani Island Resort has all the trimmings you’ll fall in love with too: tropical gardens meticulously cared for under the towering coconut palms of the Malolo lailai island, miles of white beachfront sand, pristine lagoons, and crystal clear waters gently lapping at a mesmerizing shoreline.

Lomani Island Resort wins over guests with its inviting atmosphere, underscored by a melodious welcome and farewell that guests find touching. The service at the hotel garners universal acclaim for its warm and professional staff, who make visitors feel like part of the family. While the resort's value is generally appreciated, some travelers note that certain meals and experiences may not fully justify the cost.
Amenities, including the pristine pools and complimentary snorkeling, are a hit, though occasional limited dining options and inconsistent Wi-Fi draw some criticism. The spacious and modern rooms receive high marks for their cleanliness and comfort.

Thankyou so much to all of the amazing staff at the Lomani Island Resort for giving us a wonderful & truly memorable stay 🙏
The morning we left this wonderful resort the staff lovingly dispatched us with their traditional farewell song. My partner & I were touched to tears. I was left speechless. That's how much this wonderful resort & their staff meant to us ( & shared with us) during our brief stay. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. Words cannot communicate just how much our stay at the Lomani Island resort meant to us.
We were both in need of some R&R. We stayed for days but felt like we'd "been with friends for years". That's just how refreshed (& welcomed) we felt during & after our stay. We stayed with friends. Thankyou, thankyou.
The Fiji Islands have to be seen to be believed. They are truly an unspoiled Island Paradise. Our Fijian "friends" are indeed amongst the kindest on the planet Earth. Words cannot communicate the sense of arriving at "Malolo Lai Island". We were greeted with a welcome song & the most helpful staff.
The resort is beautiful, surrounded by nature's beauty & so quiet. For people like myself used to noise & hurry I had to check myself at the only sound being "nature's chorus" - the birdsong (beautifully deafening at times), lapping of the waves & the "sound of silence" - how wonderful. There are no regular cars on Malolo Lai - so welcome to peace.
The resort staff are simply the most wonderfully genuine people who take pride in delivering heartfelt customer service. It would be impossible to single out individual staff members - the whole crew genuinely want to make our stay enjoyable & memorable.
The resort is beautifully open air & located on the shores of Malolo Lai island. We stayed in a beachfront Bure which was modern, spacious, clean & as the name suggests metres from the water. The room was impeccably serviced every day.
We had the best island cruising & snorkelling experiences (this has to be experienced to be believed). The experience of the Dolphin Safari & Reef Snorkelling were simply amazing. I was blown away by the aquatic wonder. If you stay here you must sign up for these experiences. Big thanks to the guys in the activity area who guided us to such wonderful spots.
If you are looking for a genuine, warm, adults only Island retreat at reasonable prices then I unreservedly recommend this special place for an unwind & glimpse into how life can be.
I was sorry to leave & hope to be back. "Arrive as a guest & leave as a friend".

The staff at Lomani resort are wonderful and made our holiday truly very special and memorable. The staff are like a family and we’re all incredibly welcoming and friendly.
I would describe Lomani resort as a beautiful boutique resort on Malolo Lailai, with only 33 rooms and adults only it really makes for a very quiet and relaxing resort , beautifully kept grounds and gardens. I recommend the Beachfront Pool Bure, it’s lovely to have your own private plunge pool to dip into during the heat of the day. The rooms have indoor and outdoor showers with the Pure Fijian products & Premium Fijian coffee provided in the rooms both which are a nice touch. The bed was so comfy and the linen and the towels looked new and good quality.
I love the included activities, which included traditional Fijian weaving, village tour and daily snorkelling to nearby reefs which was excellent. We did a dolphin safari one day and saw a pod of dolphins. You can also request optional paid activities and we paid to do a 4 hour deep sea fishing trip which was excellent. The Lomani resort Chef cooked the fish we caught and made the most amazing Fijian style fish lunch which tasted out of this world.
We found overall the meals at the resort were served quickly and meals were served hot. Food was well presented and I loved the Fijian style dishes such as Kokoda . Cocktails were excellent. Every evening you had the most amazing live acoustic music and some nights there was a show of Fijian style traditional song and dance.
The Beach is tidal but when the tide is out swim in the pool , or have a relaxing Fijian bobo massage and when the tide is in swim in the crystal clear azure waters.
This is the tropics so don’t forget the mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
You won’t want to leave!
Vinaka Vakalevu Lomani !!

We were looking for a nice relaxing week away and it took us an age to decide on where to go. In the end we thought Lomani ticked most of our boxes.
The resort shares a large island with Plantation (heaps and heaps of kids) and Musket Cove (very tidal). While at Lomani you will only see kids when going to and from the resort.
The ground are really well looked after. The pool is magic and the restaurant looks over the pool, the green lawn and onto the ocean. The beach is a bit tidal so you can't snorkel at low tide, however they offer free snorkeling trips that are not to be missed. We fell into a routine of breakfast, snorkeling or diving (separate cost) and then lunch and relaxing by the pool, heaven!
We had a deluxe suite which was massive with a nice outdoor shower. It's only let down was the lack of bedside lights, not really a deal breaker. The bed was very comfortable and we could set outside our suite and look out to the sea.
Meals were pretty good, although after a week, I thought there could be a more varied menu. I would not want to stay two weeks with the options available. The drinks at the bar and were good value (in that they are cheaper than buying drinks in Melbourne).
Staff were really really friendly and made us feel welcome in everything we did. Apparently the resort was full when we were there, however with only 50 odd rooms it never felt busy.
Two things I didn't really like. One was paying for better wifi as it was spotty in places and limited to two devices. This should really no longer be a thing. Checkout should really be 11. A few more staff would get the housing keeping done in time to check in at 2 and out at 11.

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful week at Lomani Resort. We are regular visitors to the resorts on Fijian islands and because we had enjoyed our time on Lomani a few years previously we decided to revisit. We were certainly not disappointed in our decision to return. Lomani is an adults only resort and as a consequence there is a feeling of peace and quiet that you don’t always get at family resorts. This feeling begins the moment that you are driven onto the manicured grounds we you first arrive. There are a few different levels of accommodation at Lomani, although truthfully all levels are extremely well appointed. We stayed in one of the beach front bures. It is very large, comfortable and private. These bures have their own yards from which you can walk straight into the water. As a result the views are magnificent. We both love the water and are keen snorkelers so this resort suits us very well. Each morning the resort offers its guests a complementary snorkeling boat trip to various nearby reefs, and these outings were very popular. And of course the house reef, while a little damaged in areas, is still worth exploring. Most afternoons we would spend a couple of hours following the reef drop off points. As house guests we had free use of all water craft gear, so we’d frequently take out kayaks, stand up paddle boards etc. We had a package at Lomani which included breakfast and dinner which suited our needs perfectly. For lunch we’d either get something light at the restaurant or, as we did a couple of times, hop on the resort’s bikes and ride over to one of the neighbouring resorts to see what they had to offer. Many guests, however, ordered light snacks from the restaurant and ate them in comfort next to the pool. The key ingredient for Lomani’s success, I believe, is their staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were made to feel like welcome friends. The reputation that Fiji and Fijians have in general for being friendly and welcoming is best exemplified by Lomani resort. My wife and I are already planning our third visit there.

We recently stayed 5 nights at Lomani Resort. As you arrive on the island, you are greeted with sea shell lays and a traditional Fijian song. There is an electric vehicle to transport you to the resort.
When you arrive at the resort, the staff provide you with a fresh coconut water (nice touch!) and warm hand towels and a comfortable ocean view seat for a relaxing atmosphere to complete registration.
We opted not to do the meal plan as there was a few other resorts on the island to provide flexibility and variety.
The bar, restaurant and beachfront bures are gorgeous and upscale. The bathroom was really nice as it offered an indoor and outdoor shower. The rooms were very spacious and nicely arranged with furniture. The deck was covered and we had a private pool with an outdoor bed and lounge chairs by the beach, while offering plenty if privacy between bures. The swimming pools and main pool were extremely warm and not refreshing during the heat of the day.
They provided two large bottles of Fiji water per day, but charged $8.50 if you wanted water with a meal : (
Laundry service was complimentary and an added bonus as we were travelling for three weeks. They provided a turn down service nightly and supplied chocolate chip cookies.
The internet was extremely slow, so we paid $10 per day for faster speed.
Their daily activities were outstanding, especially the snorkelling…..it was amazing and they take you to different reefs each day.
My husband went deep sea fishing and caught a six foot reef shark!!
Breakfasts orders were consistently wrong. For example, I ordered eggs Benedict with salmon lox on a croissant and I received eggs on toast. Everyday the breakfast orders were incorrect, which was frustrating but not the end of the world. When you stay at higher end resorts typically your expectations of service should match the appearance of the resort.
Lots of bugs at dusk, so be sure to use lots of bug spray (supplied) especially at dinner or you will be eaten alive. The hundreds of frogs all over the resort (evenings) was also a surprise, but they mitigate the bug population.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the daily activities, including the use of paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear and bicycles that were complimentary.

The Lomani Island Resort is an adult-only enclave of oceanfront tranquility.
The property features 30 rooms and most are standalone bures stretching along the shore and all face the ocean. Lomani is often sold out; advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Rooms are quite large with a neutral color palette of dark wood, tan upholstery with pops of color in tropical fabric pillows and artwork. Doors and windows are not sealed as tightly as they could be to keep out pesky mosquitoes. But this IS the tropics. Critters are a normal and essential part of the ecosystem.
All rooms include complimentary wi-fi, full buffet or sit down breakfast, wash, dry and fold laundry service, use of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, windsurfers, bicycles, snorkeling equipment, salt water swimming pool, free poolside cabanas and every guest receives a complimentary 15 minute foot massage at the intimate spa.
Complimentary tours/activities include outer reef snorkeling trip, dolphin safari tour, guided village tour, guided island tour, hand line fishing trip, coconut husking demonstration, kava ceremony, etc. Note: some activities are seasonal and others are offered once a week, based on weather and tides.
If i had to point to a downside, it would be the uneven food quality at Lomani's attractive restaurant, the Flame Tree Grill. Breakfast and lunch are casual affairs with salads, sandwiches and a few hot entrees. Would prefer a lighter hand with mayo, but asking for it on the side is an easy fix. Dinner aspires to be a more elevated experience with evening entertainment and upscale menu. Most of the specials were good, however we found dinner portions larger than they need to be and menu leans toward rich and heavy sauces. A lighter healthier fare with fresh herbs, salsas and citrus drizzle vs. cream sauces and canola oil might be more in keeping with the tropical vibe.
Finally, of all of the perks and beauty of the site, Lomani's greatest asset is their staff. Soft spoken and kind, their genuine warmth and gracious hospitality is utterly charming. It was hard to say goodbye and is well worth another visit.

2nd time, my wife and I visited this wonderful idyllic resort on Mololo Island just off Fiji mainland. A 50 min ferry ride away from Port Denearu, you arrive to be warmly greeted by a melodic Fijian song sung by the most friendliest people on this earth. Lomani is adult only, peaceful, lazy, and breathtakingly beautiful, and you're unlucky if you .eet any one else on the wo derful sandy beach. The rooms are scrupulously clean, and the evening meals are a mix of A la carte and wholesome food and a great choice. The Lamb shank and the Lamb fillet specials are to die for. Never ever had a bad meal, again served by staff who go out of their way to make you feel so warm and welcome. You gotta try their Fijian Curries as well!!! If you want a high-speed life, roaring around on a jet ski or being towed on a floating banana, the Lomani is defo not for you. However, if you want no screaming crying, moaning kids, PEACE, and total relaxation, then Lomani is for you. Oh. BTW, treat yourself self and your partner to beachside massage and try the Fijian BoBo massage. Time it for when the tide is coming in, and all you hear is the gentle waves and the expert attention of the masseur's. You will just drift away into what can only be described as heaven.

This Resort provided exceptional accommodation in a beautiful setting but is let down by the poor quality food in its restuarant. The rooms are modern and spacious. Wifi is free and mostly fast but unfortunately no free to air TV reception is available and streaming is limited (no Netflix access). Some Aust channels eg ABC can be watched via Youtube. Boat trips are available for snorkelling off the reef but otherwise not many other activities or entertainment are available. The main drawback is the inconsistent meals - my wife sent back a mushy Burger and baguette, and I complained about the soft fish tacos etc. We took up the Managers suggestion. to have dinner next door at Plantation (Black Coral ) which was a much better experience. Lomani is a pleasant place to stay, but not eat, for 2 or 3 days but not longer.

Lomani is Fijian for ‘love’ and we ‘loved’ our stay at this bespoke resort. While the resort predominantly caters for couples/honeymooners, I travelled here with a good friend and the staff catered to our every need. I have travelled throughout the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands and believe Lomani represents a superior island holiday experience. Within 2 hours of clearing customs, you can be on the island having your first cocktail. In addition to its close proximity to the mainland, the location offers an infinite soft white sand beach, crystal clear water for swimming and perfect orientation for spectacular sunsets. The accommodation is luxurious, private and well maintained. The complimentary activities (e.g. outer reef snorkelling and dolphin safari) were a fantastic bonus and the dining experience was intimate with the menu presenting many and varied taste explosions. While the location is ‘to die for’, Lomani would not have been the superior experience it was without its staff. They genuinely cared about our holiday and catered to our individual needs.

Beautiful resort staffed by beautiful people. A terrific wind-down relaxing experience. The beach front house was fabulous, although privacy at the rear (beachside) was zero, even on the back deck. Screening from neighbours on either side could easily be added. There is obviously no way to screen from people walking along the beach, but there weren’t many doing that. The resort pool was fantastic as were the poolside covered day beds and loungers. The restaurant was beautiful and extremely well designed. The food, however, was very disappointing! The menu was restrictive and didn’t change for the week we were there. Surprisingly, for Fiji, the fish was dry and over cooked. Steaks were not at all tender. Lamb cutlets were okay. One evening there was a smorgasbord meal, which was unannounced and very expensive, with mediocre quality. To add to the food disappointment was the fact that there is only one restaurant at Lomani, so you have to grin and bear it. The only alternative is to dine at one of the Plantation Island restaurants, but (according to many who had tried them) the food was no better and there are always so many noisy children around and the ambience is no where near as good as The Lomani restaurant. I cannot emphasise strongly enough the courtesy and friendliness of the entire staff, who did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. If only the food could live up to the rest of the resort standards I would give a five star review. Would we go again? Probably not. My wife and I met in Fiji nearly 40 years ago, so it holds a very special place in our hearts. We’ve visited eight times over the years, staying in different resorts; some family friendly ones when we had young children and some very exclusive adults only ones once the children had flown the nest. So all-in-all, the Lomani experience was not what we’d hoped for or expected. It did force us slow down and slip into “Fiji Time” however, which was fantastic. One final gong; the daily reef snorkelling was fantastic!

We have stayed at Lomani 4 times and about to rebook. We have had a pool bure but used the pool only because we thought we should. We prefer the ocean and theres always the main pool. Its really a personal preference .
Hey -
Yep you can snorkel right off the beach. Best times are from mid to high tide. It stretches out a fair distance - and the reef is about 100 meters from shore. The daily boat trip takes you out to a sand bar and beyond. Cheers.
