Everywhere you go in Fiji, they say " Welcome HOME! ". That is giving you that feeling of being home from the first moment you arrive. We've been twice in this resort this Summer and we really felt as HOME. Due to COVID situation and as Fiji residents at the moment we've been lucky to use the opportunity to explore many local offers places, islands in Fiji. Plantation island resort was one of them and after visiting with a group of friends once, we decided to return again with a bigger group. There are lots to say and show, but the fact is that we loved it there everytime. Alex Wilson, the General manager is a wonderful host, who put together a wonderful team of people, including the best chef in Fiji, Chef Mohamed, or as all call him chef Mo. Everything was nicely organised, our meeting, greeting, accomodation, animation for kids, activities etc. We has cooking Masterclass, baskets waiving, kayaking, Tours for deep water snorkeling and sand bank snorkeling & sunset, everything was there! ACCOMODATION : The rooms near restaurant Ocean view are newly built, very clean, spacious enough for families with 2 kids. Some of us with larger families used the bures, which are not new, but very clean and good. Of course, during the lockdown the resorts look more empty as in nirmal times, not all the facilities available, but it was enough fir everyone to do what they like. BEACH 🏖 One of the best beaches I've seen in Fiji, clear water, white sand, a long one, enough to explore and isolate if you don't want people arround. Of you go further, you can find a wonderful spot for snorkeling, right on the beach! 🐠 🐠🐠 Kayaking, paddling and water bouncy trambuline. FOOD Well, this is one of my favourite parts. I mentioned earlier chef Mo, amazing as human and as professional! He spoiled us with a great variety of lovely dishes, for all tastes. The menu for kids and adults had more options than any other resort we've visited these unlucky season in Fiji. Finally no more fish and chips and burgers options, but a food prepared comme il faut, healthy options for all ages and taste. Morning breakfast were so good and tasty, pancakes 🥞, continental breakfast, coconut porridge bowl ( so popular!), fresh fruits, AMAZING cassava hashbrowns etc Dinner time was a blast too, the cherry on the cake was always the stone grilled beef🥩, amazing entrés etc ! Vinaka vakalevu, chef Mo! 💐 …
We stayed for 11 days but had to leave because of Coronavirus While we were there we stayed in new rooms which were comfortable House keeping staff doing a good job Staff at breakfast and tea were very helpful and smiling all the time Overall all staff from General manager Alex made our stay cheerful and fun We miss all our friends Will see them again in October if all okay
Plantation Island, a magnificent tropical island. Lined with palm trees and a long white sandy beach. We arrived with our 7mo baby and 4 yr old son. Soon enough we are in our spacious room, the one bedroom garden terrace.plenty big enough for the 4 of us, Whisper quiet and only a 2 minute walk to the beach, activities, the buffet restaurant, black coral restaurant and the pools. We enjoyed having a beach morning of snorkeling and swimming then in the afternoon pool swims and a dash to the bar for a cool cocktail or two. Served by friendly staff. This was a relaxing holiday yet we did so much in a week. A snorkeling trip, kayaking, water park, day trip to other islands, massage and riding the Bula bikes. Highlights: sunset pizza dinner on the beach, swimming everyday morning and aftertnoon. Day trip to islands. We would love to go again. Possibly when our baby is about 2 or 3.…
We went to PIR for an end of year holiday and it was great. It was a beach, sunshine, activities, kids club and all the things we needed. We had a few issues around food. We didn't get a meal plan - fussy 6year old and vegetarians so we took breakfast foods, snacks and a few meals with us. Everything including the 1L long life milk was fine at the airport - people before us had 'shelf' cheese taken at the airport. I wish we had've grabbed more cuppa noodles they were such a treat around 4pm after a day in the sun. We struggled to find facilities open when we wanted to eat. Kids dinner is 5.30 at the buffet... noone mentioned that adults can't eat then so my little one was messy 6pm. When the snack bar closed around 3.30pm that there wasn't food and this was when we were pretty hungry having been in the sun all day. The online menus aren't reflective of actual menus but they're close. The cocohut does coffee but we picked up some at the traders store aswell for in room use - found by following the beach around - its hidden in the big white building in the neighbouring resort - you can't take the bikes further than the airport landing strip so it's a walk over (about 20mins if you stop for a pic or two). There's also a store and a bakery where the mololo cat collects you. We liked most of what was on the menus but there was only a token vegetarian option at each place so that did mean by the third day we'd eaten every option. I'm glad we packed enough vegie meal options.…
My partner, baby and I stayed here for a week in February and had the best time. I had read some of the previous reviews and had lowered my expectations but i couldn't have been happier. We stayed in Beachfront Bure which was a stones throw from the beach. The room was spacious and they provided a cot and microwave on request which was needed for sterilising bottles. The rooms were air conditioned and very comfortable. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly particularly to our baby!. We loved the Tivoli pool and restaurant and our friendly waiter Elia. As we were here in low season there were only 60 guests in the whole of the resort which meant we had the pool and beach to ourselves sometime which was just amazing but i think the resort would still hold its charm when its busy. With beautiful beaches with stunning torquoise clear water (which was like being in a bath) whats not to like?! We loved our holiday here and would 100% recommend the resort. We will be going back for sure. Bula!!…
