My husband and I went to Likuliku for our honeymoon and I can’t stop raving and thinking about our stay. It was the most beautiful and accommodating vacation I’ve ever been on. ALL the staff goes above and beyond and is genuine about accommodating you. The staff will remember you and address you by first name. The food was delicious and our waterfront bure was beautiful. I do wish we booked the deluxe waterfront bure for the private plunge pool. Be ready to eat at least 3 courses of food! I can’t stop thinking about all the wonderful staff there since I’m from Los Angeles and not use to the genuine hospitality. Book the honeymoon island and any other adventures since the resort is really the only place. There are no cars on the island only staff golf carts which was refreshing break from the LA traffic life. The drinks are fabulous and the food is superb. When leaving after 7 days I was holding back tears. I couldn’t help but think back to how when we arrived they all kept saying welcome home and we were confused, but it made sense once we were leaving and reflecting back on our trip. This resort really makes you feel like it’s home and you belong. Don’t forget to tip them cash in their fund box at the front desk since they do not have a place to fill out for tips on the receipts. I can’t wait for us to go back in 5 years and will be dreaming about it until then! Ps. If you have a Costco membership book through their travel agency, makes the whole traveling there and back a breeeeeze! Also bring water shoes the sand has a lot of seashells that hurt after a while of walking on the sand. Vinaka!…
No doubt about it, this is a beautiful resort. This is a couples only resort so there are no children to deal with during your time. It appears that the resort caters to honeymooner. We are a retired couple and sometimes felt we may have been a little pushed to the side. We don’t spend a lot on alcohol but we don’t do that at home either. We stayed in one of the over the water bungalows and we loved the room. It was very clean and comfortable. The deck was great for taking sunset pictures. There were a couple of glass panels in the floor so you watch the fish swimming under your bungalow although we never saw a whole lot. You can snorkel right off the bungalow but only during high tide. At other times there is really not a lot of water so you can’t risk damaging the coral. We went out one afternoon and the currents were very strong and we kept getting knocked against the stairs. We gave up pretty quickly. We did hear from some other people that said the snorkeling there was great. All your meals are included although there were 2 or maybe 3 choices at every meal. I would have liked to see more vegetarian options or even lighter options especially at lunch. One day they did have a salad which was perfect. Meals do take a minimum of about 2 hours but you can do breakfast in much less time if you just do the buffet. The food was mostly well prepared and delicious. We skipped dinner one night because we were not hungry and we were called to see when we were coming to dinner and then asked the next day why we didn’t come for dinner. The staff gets to know everyone on a first name basis and you are greeted by name by everyone when they see you. You could not find a better staff anywhere! Special shout to Sam, the Activities Director. He went above and beyond when there was a mixup on our Island Hopping trip that was booked for the day we were leaving. He arranged for someone to take us the day we thought it was. It turned out perfect! Not a lot to do at the resort itself. If you are a beach person this might not be the right place since there is no beach at low tide. The pool is a very nice area to hang out during the day and you’ll see lots of people there, they do have a few trips away from the resort. All in all, we had a nice, relaxing time. We were there for 3 nights and then transferred to another resort where we thought there would be more options for things to do. Not sure we would ever return to Likuliku Resort. I would prefer to try another place and for me the resort was just not special enough. We did have them book transportation for us from Port Denerau to our next resort and unfortunately that all got screwed up so no one was there to pick us up. After 2 phone calls and 2 hours of waiting, we ended up taking a cab. Cabs are very easy to get at the Port and if we had know that, we would have gone that route to begin with. They did quickly refund us for the transfer charge.…
This is the best locally-owned resort in Fiji. Booked one of their over-water bures. It had a living room with a glass-bottom floor, Champaign, friendly and wonderfully accommodating staff amazing recreational opportunities (island-hopping, snorkeling, diving, sunset cruises, inland hiking excursions, cultural activities... Look, I could go on all day but here's the bottom line: We stayed in one of the most gorgeous places I've ever been (and I've traveled the globe). The staff bent over backwards to make our stay awesome. We explored the Mamanuca group of islands (by air, land and sea) in comfort. It was so amazing it bordered on the surreal - it was THAT GOOD!!!
Just completed a 7 night stay at Likuliku and had an amazing, wonderful, relaxing time at this beautiful, tranquil, classy, friendly, professional resort! We didn't want to leave and we do highly recommend it. We picked the regular Beachfront option thinking we'd spend more time at the pool (which we did, because it's really beautiful), but certainly would have enjoyed a Deluxe with the plunge pool. We enjoyed the people we met and the professional, friendly, helpful staff. We really appreciated learning more about the Fiji culture, history, and way of life. We had a challenge waiting for the helicopter (no fault of Likuliku) - Fiji is open and already very busy! Several Helicopters were reserved/being used by Survivor TV show filming, other bookings, plus everyone hopping to the many other islands. Just understand you *may* not get to immediately jump in and go. On the way home we switched to the speed boat (must give adequate lead time to change) and it was amazing but keep in mind...not 'smooth', 'calming', or leisurely. The pool is so beautiful and the grounds are well-kept. Food: very creative menu, wonderful flavors, high quality, and plentiful. The curries and seafood are amazing. Be prepared to be patient and relax! My recommendation card included that we would have liked starting the dinner window at 6pm. We were so full and did not order desserts every meal so that cut down on our time at dinner :) We did the Island hopping and LOVED seeing the Cast Away island location / snorkeling - recommend re-watching the movie before going. We did the Cloud 9 excursion on the same day - it's on the wilder/party side with a great DJ...we were not able to secure a spot with their limited day beds, benches, etc. You can jump off the top deck and snorkel there too. The people-watching is quite entertaining. The snorkeling is also really nice at the resort. We loved the kayaks (clear bottom), SUP, fishing excursions (husband), and the 3 hour round-trip guided hike to the top of Mt Uluisilo peak. It was strenuous, some portions were quite steep, and we wore our hiking shoes - the views of the island are great from the peak! You'll burn some great calories on that one. Make sure you do spa time AFTER hikes :) Final tips - they DO provide bug spray. If you are prone to bug bites take an after-bite balm + anti-histamines and you'll be fine. It's tropical! IF you wade in the lagoon, be cautious of stingrays or take water shoes. Their website is so helpful & informative. Some other review 'comments' would have been addressed if researching/reading what is included, options, activities, educational info, etc.…
This resort is beautiful , placed around a peaceful lagoon. There are tropical fish in the lagoon and spectacular snorkelling sites 10 minute away on a speedboat. The feeling around the pool is very quiet and relaxed and there are always plenty of sun lounges . The Beach Bure was large, stunning, super clean and well maintained. The meals were excellent for Fiji and I have a pretty high bar. I was quite impressed with the menu and food ! Well done chef. However , it is a bit slow ,so be ready for " island time " meals. One does pay for Cappuccinos and all drinks ( even Non alcoholic drinks if I remember correctly ) but food is included. The most impressive thing is the staff . .. So so kind and always smiling and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile. My sister has a motor disability and the staff were incredibly helpful - giving support to her up and down stairs and across unstable ground. Joe was so kind on the snorkeling trip holding her hand the whole way. Thanks also to Usa who wrangled our big family party with a smile. …
This placed was billed as a dive resort. Not the case, all they do is book with a local dive shop. Went on 1 dive without a problem. Scheduled 2nd dive but when we arrived they said we booked for the following day. Not true, stopped three times to confirm. Each time they were confused about who we were and what room we were staying in. If you come here, beware of the confused recreation desk. Otherwise a beautiful place.
Amazing staff Great location Food was superb The coral was good and only 100 meters from the shore, they have small tours that take you to even better locations. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient. You looked forward to the meals with some interesting food Overall amazing
When my husband and I decided we were going to go to Fiji for the firs ttime, we knew we wanted to spend a few days in a resort where we could stay in one of those iconic overwater bures. Not many places in Fiji had them, so it narrowed our pool of options considerably. We decided on Likuliku due to its location in the Mamanuca Islands and the glowing reviews. We knew it would be great, but we had no idea how great it would be. The booking process was very easy and they even helped us move our reservation by two months at no cost when the omicron variant emerged in the US and made us less comfortable about traveling. They were in close touch with us prior to our arrival and helped us arrange transportation to and from Nadi Airport (which was very convenient). We arrived early Monday morning and were greeted at the dock by some very friendly staff. Even though we arrived about 7 hours before check-in time they got us checked in, showed us to breakfast, and had our room ready within 2 hours. The overwater bure was spectacular. It was immaculately clean, spacious, and had luxurious accommodations. In the bathroom and living area there was glass that allowed you to see through to the stunning coral reef below. The bed was large and comfortable and the closets were spacious. The bathroom (or bathing pavilion, rather) was enormous and featured a wonderful bathtub that overlooked the ocean. The back patio had comfortable chaise lounges and a ladder into the sea, where you could go swimming and snorkeling at high tides. It also had an outdoor shower so you could was the ocean off of you before returning into the room! The main resort was wonderful as well. We had no idea that meals were included and were delighted to find that out. Breakfast included a buffet of pastries, fruits, granola, yogurt, and juices, as well as items that could be ordered a la carte (I highly recommend the likuliku pancakes!). Lunch and dinner were three course meals, with two options for starters, entree, and desert. We didn't have a single bad dish the entire time we were there - everything was wonderful. Most entrees had a seafood option and a meat option and I know that they could accommodate a range of dietary preferences and restrictions. Occasionally, service was a bit slow, but everyone was very friendly and you are on island time - there's no need to rush! We did a number of activities while we were there. They took us out on a boat to go snorkeling on the reef behind Honeymoon Island. We did an island hopping tour that took us around the Mamanuca Islands to show us different spots, including where they filmed "Cast Away" and are currently setting up to film "Survivor: Fiji" and a jaw-dropping sand bar. I had a wonderful hot and cold stone massage in the spa that cured my jet lag. And we met the endangered Fiji crested iguanas that are being bred at the resort for reintroduction to the wild. The ones that were extra cost were reasonably priced and every staff member we encountered was informative, friendly, and skilled. It wasn't until we left and started exploring other parts of Fiji that we realized how absolutely sensational Likuliku was. Despite being closed for nearly 2 years due to the pandemic and having only reopened recently, everything went off flawlessly. I could not recommend Likuliku more highly.…
I am leaving this honest review because I know this may help you make a decision as this resort is a big investment. We traveled last week of April/early May for 7 nights. Pros: 1. Delicious food 2. Beautiful overwater villas 3. Colorful coral reef 4. Friendly staff cons: 1. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner require eating in their one and only restaurant. All are made to order with a minimum 1 hr wait. So that means you need to plan 2 hours for each and every meal within a 3 hour window for each meal. They don't allow you take it to your room and don't do room service. Also, dinner requires reservations every night. Basically most of your vacation time will revolve around planning for your meals and formal dining. 2. Their "free" land activities do not exist. Whenever I'd come to the meeting spot for an activity such as "Fijian story time" or "Coconut creations" the staff would look at me funny and say come back tomorrow or come back later. 3. They nickel and dime you. Water is free in your room, but order it from a bar...it will cost you. Upon checkout, make sure you triple check your bills because they add charges that you never made. This also happened to another couple. 4. Make sure you have all your transfers, promotions, and bookings in writing. I told them many times that I wanted to switch my speedboat ride back to the helicopter (because I am pregnant and cannot handle the rocking of their tiny 1 hr speedboat rides. PLUS I found out one couple got stranded in the middle of the ocean in a speedboat that broke down). The staff verbally told me they would make the change then the next day they denied I ever asked for the helicopter. They made a huge deal and spent my last entire morning trying to resolve it. Houes later they confirmed our helicopter flight but we waited 3 hours for the helicopter to show up and found out the helicopter was contemplating not to pick us up. Staff never apologized for this mess up and miscommunication. 5. This is not a 5 star resort. If you spend $10 to $15K on a once in a lifetime vacation, I expect a certain level of service. Overcharging, miscommunication, and being inflexible with guests needs are a huge area that need massive improvement. We've traveled to 5 Star resorts all over the world and would rate this a 4 star. I hope this review helped you. FIJI is a beautiful place but unless you're a foodie or $10K is no big deal for you...then consider another place.…
What an amazing place, the staff, the resort, the rooms, the meals everything perfect. Stayed in on water Bure, if your budget can stretch that little bit more, you won't regret it. Feels so remote but so much to do, do not miss snorkling Castaway wall, spectacular. The sun sets at your front door, heaven on earth.
