Wow!! Where do I even begin to explain what a wonderful experience Wakaya had offered to our group.. We were the first local group to have visited the Wakaya Spa and Club and our whole trip was just so incredible.. From the beauty of the island to the amazing food and down to the hospitality of the staff - we enjoyed everything and every moment.. Monika, Ledua, Nina, Henry Just to name a few provided an exceptional service to us locals and treated is just like any one of their usual clientele who are mostly millionaires and celebrities.. highly recommended!!

Love your locals just got real at Wakaya. From the plane trip to the boat ride, Wakaya never ceased to amaze me. The service and hospitality is unmatched in Fiji. Highly recommended for a relaxing, laid-back vacation/staycation.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left - nothing was too much. Our first visit to Wakaya was simply perfection. We were celebrating my birthday and our recent move to Fiji - Wakaya did not disappoint. The private plane journey from Suva was seamless and efficient. We were greeted with an amazing Bula welcome then whisked off for breakfast and straight into relaxing beach side. Our bure was wonderful and large, with sweeping views of the ocean and our own hammock to enjoy. We snorkelled, had a hugely successful day of tuna fishing, ate the most divine food and totally unwound. Every meal was outstanding - no easy thing in Fiji. Fresh, full of flavour and creative. I requested all the wonderful recipes to take home. The service was exactly what you would expect and more when you are staying at this type of luxury escape. We were also very lucky to have the island to ourselves - 4 days of absolute heaven. Monika, Lendua and Henry made our time on the island incredibly special and we simply can not wait to return.

Having traveled to over 20 countries and staying at memorable places, nothing in our years of travel can begin to compare to the experience we had at Wakaya. Our bungalow on the beach matched every picture in a dream travel guide. It was clean, tasteful and felt exotic. The furniture looked like it hadn't ever been sat on. The bed was super comfortable, and from through the canopy bed you could see the beach and the ocean. The beach had beautiful sand and crystal clear water. The open air dining room was the ultimate Fiji experience. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were perfection. Every meal was a gourmet experience with a Fiji flare. We had already tried a famous Fiji barbecue before arriving at the resort, and we thought we wouldn't order it again (it was a little dry), but when we arrived at Wakaya, we were told that their food was like no other. Let me just say, it was so much better. We had the barbecue for our anniversary dinner. On that evening, they had planned on their own to set a table on the beach with beautiful lanterns hanging in the trees, tiki torches lining the beach, and a huge bonfire just for us. They baked us a special anniversary cake and several came out to sing a couple songs for us. The evening lasted for hours and we will never forget it...maybe the finest evening of our lives The staff want to make you feel like you're there on a beautiful island all by yourself, so they really try to respect privacy. But if you let them know that you would like to engage them, they are wonderful and interesting conversationalists...all while continuing to respect your privacy. We felt like we were treated like royalty. One day they set up a beautiful lunch on a private beach. They brought out the beautiful drinks and fantastic food and the table setting was laid out under a gazebo. They set up an outdoor covered lounge area with a large cushion to sit on and tons of pillows. Two hammocks were ready for us and someone stood off a ways to make sure that if we wanted snorkels or paddle boards or kayaks, they were available upon our request. The coral reef there was beautiful and there were lots of sea turtles in that area. One day we took them up on the offer to take the boat out to one of the reefs. I have had the opportunity to snorkel in the Red Sea on the Sinai Peninsula. I never thought I would see water that clear and a reef as beautiful as that, but Wakaya offered something to match it. On Sunday morning we went to the church to join their church service. The pastor was gracious, the people were happy and kind, and the children were a joy to be with. What a beautiful service! I've been many places, and without a doubt, Wakaya is the best and most beautiful place my wife and I have ever stayed. We can't stop thinking about how we can get back there and how soon we can make it happen. To everyone who works there and might read this, we think of you all often. Thank you so much for being the wonderful people you are and how much you made us feel at home.

It was our first visit to Fiji so not so sure what to expect and having paid a lot of money for our private island resort our hopes were high. We were not disappointed. From our arrival everyone was warm and friendly and the service was fantastic. Special mention goes to Lendua, Waisake, Nina, Monika and Henry! The hotel and island are kept fantastically natural and clean with local people employed. The food was amazing and we tasted things we’ve never had before. I went fishing one day and caught a few barracuda all of which went to the island community. If you want a special private holiday and looked after impeccably, then this is THE place to visit. With a maximum of 20 guests you are never going to be crowded and with the spa and lots of water sports to keep you occupied this makes for a great holiday choice! From the moment you arrive and then leave to hotel staff singing hello/ farewell to you it all makes for a very special private island experience not to missed.
