From the moment i stepped of the boat i felt like i was at home, the staff were great and felt more like family than just staff looking after you. the food was great very Fijian. just prefect if you want to chill and forget about the world. watch for the volley ball everyday!!

It is pretty hard to describe just how special Caqalai really is, and i guess i would just say go there to live it and experience it for yourself, as you will walk away with a completely new sense of what Fiji, and travelling, is all about! When i have been back packing and travelling from place to place i...

This was the 3rd time my girlfriend and I have visited Caqalai in the passed 3 years we have lived here. The first two times I would recommend this place to anyone, hands down. Charming, beautiful, friendly staff, the food, well ok, but edible. But in this last trip, it was evident of how far the quality of the place...

I've given this 5 Stars because this was perfect for me - although it may not be for everyone. Shared basic toilet facilities, no power in the Bures, basic beds. Drinking water from rainwater collection tanks. Food was wholesome and the staff were very friendly. Seriously off the beaten track, this small island can only be described as paradise. Whether...

I'm reluctant to even write this review because so few places remain in the world that can be described as an isolated paradise, but are not overrun with tourism - I'm tempted to keep this gem to myself! We were looking for somewhere to spend Christmas that A) was right on a beautiful beach, B) had good snorkeling and diving,...

Caqalai was a great relaxing place where you are left do do what you like. There is no alcohol on the Island so bring your own from the mainland if you like. The meals are good and the Lovo on Sundays is fabulous. The snorkelling is great with lots of soft coral.

It was hard to rate this back-packers paradise because it really depends what the rating is speaking to. If you're looking for 5 star service, this is not the place to go. Let me stress that this is a back-packers island and you are left to look after yourself on the island. The island is owned by the Methodist Church...
