Great location, friendly staff, and clean. Only thing is there isn’t anywhere to hang your towels in the bathroom and a microwave would have been nice. Otherwise, it was great! Loved the Crabtree & Evelyn products.

This is a great hotel in a decent location. I attended the memorial in Selma for Rep. John Lewis and booked this hotel last minute. The staff were nice and the property was clean and following CDC guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing. The rooms were sealed with Lysol stickers to reassure customer that no one has entered the room since it was cleaned. There is free parking and the breakfast was limited and put in a paper bag for safety.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again when in Montgomery. If you have a big family do be aware that the rooms aren’t the biggest but it can work nicely for 2 adults and 2 kids.

We arrived tired after 11 hours on the road. The check-in process was quick, a cart was provided for us to transport our luggage, the room was spotless and sanitized, the bed was super comfortable and provision of a refrigerator was a plus. We'd give this hotel a solid 5 stars. Room was quiet and temperature controls just right. Spacious bathroom. WE couldn't have asked for more, other than the famous Doubletree Cookies which are not available right now because of Covid. Boo Hoo!!

Heads up. Don't trust the reviews. I read them before booking. If you are looking for a no-frills hotel that is similar to a roadside motel, this is your place. Don't be fooled by the brand name or the lovely pictures posted on the site. This is a self service and modestly cleaned hotel with staff that is either sleeping on a couch in the lobby or is inconvenienced by you checking in. Getting luggage to your room is self service via their luggage rack. Although several staff members chatted with us on the way to the elevator and were watching us struggle to get on the elevator, none offered to lend a hand. Regarding the room, the desk chair seat was covered in crumbs from the prior visitor. No one had dusted since 1923. We had no toilet paper and had to hunt for someone to find it somewhere in the hotel. The blackout shades were coated in grime and didn't close. The cleaning person was stressed because she had to clean 13 rooms. I didn't see clean or dirty sheets in the cart or in the laundry basket which made me sleep in a sleeping bag on top of the bed that night, The floor hasn't seen a vacuum in decades. We never heard one running. We asked the front desk for dining suggestions. She said she didn't have any and to walk down the street to see what was open. It was raining. We asked if she had an umbrella that we could borrow. There were none. The parking lot was scary. No security. The hotel was empty, only a handful of guests. I paid $267 for this one night experience. It was unsettling. I left at the crack of dawn the next morning thankful that my car was intact and I could get breakfast at a nearby Starbucks.

WARNING- I booked a suite at the Hampton Inn downtown and they moved me to this hotel. I asked why and they said was consolidating all guest to this hotel. After being on hold for 15 minutes after telling them I had booked a suite I asked how much for a regular room. The charge was 115.00 for a room which we agreed too.....room had 2 double beds, no extras in the bathroom such as shampoo or lotion. No coffee maker. Literally was a room with 2 double beds..... The temp In the room didn’t stay consistent, set thermostat to 70 and all 4 of us was hot and cold all night. I would not stay again in this hotel. The bright point was the guy running the front desk- very friendly, helpful and polite. This was the only bright point at this hotel.

Ok hotel. Room was just average and not overly memorable (which is good, sometimes). The water pressure in the shower was perhaps the strongest I've had in a hotel, at least in recent memory.
Location was good enough as we were able to see everything we wanted to on foot. Next time I may try to stay at one of the hotels down closer to the restaurants and such.
While minor, I do believe Diamond members are supposed to get an upgrade at Doubletrees. It wasn't that crowded and there were still selling the next class of room on the app at time of check-in, and yet was told there were none available. I seriously doubt it, but this is consistent with Doubletrees.

Was overcharged for the room. Was given the incorrect room type that I requested. Room had no fridge or microwave. Did get mixed to a better room. Was told the manager “MAY” remove extra charges after being overcharged for the room. I always book through booking.com. Well my booking price was almost 100 less than what the hotel actually charged me. Booking also says parking is free but it’s 14 dollars a day. There were some type of black bugs in my room (no idea what that was about). When I brought it to the front desk attention about the inaccurate information on booking she didn’t really seem concerned. There was a black guy who worked overnight after 11pm when I would come in from work who was AWESOME. He was the one who moved me to another room that had the amenities that I previously chose on booking. He made sure from then on that I was good. Great location. The underground garage is creepy and dark. Overall, I wouldn’t return honestly.

The room was nice, clean and accommodating. Hotel staff and restaurant staff were great. Do not order the “ribeye” from the restaurant for 35.00 because it was horrible tasting and looked more like a sirloin. We both ordered the ribeye and both were equally horrible. An unrelated guest sitting a few tables agreed that her “ribeye” tasted terrible and sent it back only to get the same steak a few minutes later. These all were inedible. We informed the server and she offered a complimentary breakfast for the next day ( which was very good) however no adjustment to the steak bill. Please beware of the “ribeye”

Great experience at this DoubleTree with our large group of students - we took a Civil Rights trip to Montgomery and Selma, and this was the perfect place for us to stay. First, they upgraded two of our four rooms to suites, which was incredible. As for the hotel itself, it was walkable to museums, restaurants and other attractions, it was clean and comfortable, and the gym on the second floor even had TWO Peloton bikes (what a perk for travelers!). We were offered warm cookies at the front desk, of course, which always adds to the experience of staying at a DoubleTree. Very kind staff as well!

The room smelled awful (maybe old, maybe humidity but BAD) and it was old and desperately in need of updating and new furniture. They were understaffed at the front desk on check-in, they do not offer daily housekeeping unless you ask for it (which I wasn't apprised of), the TV's signal is intermittent and there were no glasses in my room. Some rooms have refrigerators but mine didn't and I would have liked one. Very disappointing experience. I will not stay here again.

Tub and shower combo
If you're asking if you can come and go as you please? Yes I did...regardless of the hour.
A blow dryer was available in the room as was an iron and ironing board. I charged parking to my room. Sometimes I put part of the bill on one card and the rest on another - they are great about that!
