DoubleTree by Hilton in Montgomery, Alabama provided me and my spouse with very nice accommodations at an affordable price. The staff was very polite and the evening atmosphere was calmly pleasant. I recommend this facility for your visit.

Ok hotel. Room was just average and not overly memorable (which is good, sometimes). The water pressure in the shower was perhaps the strongest I've had in a hotel, at least in recent memory. Location was good enough as we were able to see everything we wanted to on foot. Next time I may try to stay at one of the hotels down closer to the restaurants and such. While minor, I do believe Diamond members are supposed to get an upgrade at Doubletrees. It wasn't that crowded and there were still selling the next class of room on the app at time of check-in, and yet was told there were none available. I seriously doubt it, but this is consistent with Doubletrees.

Heads up. Don't trust the reviews. I read them before booking. If you are looking for a no-frills hotel that is similar to a roadside motel, this is your place. Don't be fooled by the brand name or the lovely pictures posted on the site. This is a self service and modestly cleaned hotel with staff that is either sleeping on a couch in the lobby or is inconvenienced by you checking in. Getting luggage to your room is self service via their luggage rack. Although several staff members chatted with us on the way to the elevator and were watching us struggle to get on the elevator, none offered to lend a hand. Regarding the room, the desk chair seat was covered in crumbs from the prior visitor. No one had dusted since 1923. We had no toilet paper and had to hunt for someone to find it somewhere in the hotel. The blackout shades were coated in grime and didn't close. The cleaning person was stressed because she had to clean 13 rooms. I didn't see clean or dirty sheets in the cart or in the laundry basket which made me sleep in a sleeping bag on top of the bed that night, The floor hasn't seen a vacuum in decades. We never heard one running. We asked the front desk for dining suggestions. She said she didn't have any and to walk down the street to see what was open. It was raining. We asked if she had an umbrella that we could borrow. There were none. The parking lot was scary. No security. The hotel was empty, only a handful of guests. I paid $267 for this one night experience. It was unsettling. I left at the crack of dawn the next morning thankful that my car was intact and I could get breakfast at a nearby Starbucks.

Probably the worst Hilton experience I’ve had. App - abysmal. Used to book my stay at hhonors rate. No option to add the parking fee. No option to request early check in other than messaging the hotel directly. Attempted to check in early using the app and it removed me from the list of arrivals for the day - I still had to stop at the front desk because the digital key didn’t work. The digital key never worked, even after stopping at the desk and asking them to enable it - so that “feature” was useless. Also the room I requested wasn’t ready, or was reserved by my early app check in and unavailable to me at the desk in person. Only way to pick the room you want is to check in, and then the room you pick isn’t guaranteed. What’s the point? Service - bad. On check-in, I noted I had tried to reserve a specific room to larry. He barely acknowledged it, and when finally confronted said it wasn’t ready. No discussion of other options, or investigation into the housekeeper’s status/plan to give me an estimated time of readiness, which would have been appropriate since I noted I had tried to reserve a specific room. He asked me to insert a credit card for “incidentals like parking or breakfast.” No mention that the parking fee was MANDATORY to avoid getting towed. After a couple minutes I said I would need parking passes then - and was promptly charged for them. He didn’t ask how many keys I wanted, didn’t offer breakfast or wifi information, or seem to care to do anything at all besides assign me a room. The coffee maker in my fathers room never worked and the one in mine only came with one caffeinated pod - the rest were decaf or tea. It’s the little things that matter - the only reason my rating here wasn’t abysmal was the cookies ms tonia provided on check in, and her willingness to remove the parking fee after we noted the digital key never worked. Facilities - mediocre. Entrance to the hotel is weird, being at a corner, and the lobby is nice. The room was tiny, under furnished, and had the smallest bathroom of any hotel I’ve stayed in in recent memory. Room was 60 degrees on entry. Overall: I would not stay here again and would recommend others choose somewhere else due to the app and service experience.

Great three night stay at the Doubletree! My room was spotless, breakfast was good, and everyone was very nice. A big thanks to Janice at the front for making sure I got my cookie! The hotel is within walking distance of several museums and restaurants.

Positives: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The rest: For the price I paid, I was really disappointed. The room is totally bare bones. No microwave. Furnishings and fixtures are shabby and worn. Basic cable. Bad Wi-Fi, unless you pay extra for “premium.” A mildewy, stale smell in the room and hallways, and an odd aroma from the A/C. We only stayed one night, otherwise I’d feel worse about this choice, but I still wish I’d picked another hotel. If you get a great deal, it might be a fine budget option, but I paid over $200 all told for this one night, and it just isn’t a $200/night hotel.

The team members at this location were outstanding and I truly appreciated their kindness and helpfulness upon our stay. The rooms were very clean although décor somewhat worn. Great location to go to many of the local venues.

I stayed for 2 nights. It was a decent stay Pros: -The room was comfy and beds were decent -Breakfast was good (warm options were available...not worth $17 though). -Close to the Legacy Museum (walking distance) The Cons: -They didn't have staff or towels available when requested. That night, I asked to come down to retrieve them. The next morning, they didn't have any, they were "all" being washed, however, the hotel wasn't full and the room wasn't fully stocked upon check in (1 wash clothe, 2 towels) -The bathroom tub faucet needed repair and the ceiling around the door was chipping. -The staff doesn't communicate with each other (breakfast & checkout, etc) and lacks knowledge in certain areas (third party booking and charges) BUT were nice and helped as much as they could. Overall, if I was passing through I would definitely stay again but wouldn't make it an extended stay or family trip.

Rooms, especially bathroom are disappointingly small. A/C unit blows across the bed next to it - sleeper goes from too cool to too warm all night. Street noise is obvious. No breakfast waffle iron, other choices limited. Does not have the feel of an upgrade property.

When I travel and frequent a lot of hotel properties, I am big on associate interactions with my needs and or other guests needs. This hotel has its short comings like most hotels since Covid but the associates here are striving to make the best out of it from my interactions and observations. Ms. Ernestine, who is the breakfast server in the restaurant in my opinion is carrying the torch. She took excellent care of our group during breakfast, while we were here in town experiencing the city's storied past by way of museums & tours. Ms. Ernestine, was so genuine and inviting to us and everyone from my observations and she actually took my mind away from some of the shortcomings that the hotel was a little lacking on but, that's what the great associates do and thank you Ms. Ernestine for the "passion to serve" others during these uncertain times.
