Excellent accommodations. Warm and welcoming! Beautiful newly restored home from 1830s. Most comfortable bed and sheets in the Rachel room. Wonderful breakfast! Fresh fruit, seafood Benedict, omelet with your personal chef! And expresso and wonderful tea! Wish we had time to stay longer and spend more time on the porch or balcony! Thank you for restoring this beautiful place so... More

Awesome atmosphere! Chef Robbie is the greatest! He gave lots of tasty selections for breakfast. This is a quiet place but only a couple of blocks from the convention center. This place has great character. The bedding was so soft and comfortable. It is very clean and has a quaint little courtyard out back with a black and white cat... More

Within walking distance to the Mobile Convention Center, this "inn" was more like a bed and breakfast. My room was named the "Ben and Jen" room (name may need to be updated) and was elegantly appointed. The room had a large bathroom and a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, and microwave. Large screen TV, great bedding, wonderful towels. The breakfasts were... More

I read the reviews for this Inn and decided it was worth checking out. Boy was I wrong. The room was okay but nothing all that special. I didn't expect to have paper coffee cups and the room really needed some rugs. The "book of rules" stated that Chef Robbie consults on the breakfast menus then trains the staff to... More

Unique - no matter if you're local or International. I've never been somewhere similar. Talk with the staff and experience unique things about Mobile (it's pronounced Mo-beel-ee). Everyone is friendly and you feel like you've gone back in time.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Inn. I came back because of the fabulous breakfast. The food is great and Chef Robbie is very nice. Also, it is very quiet. The staff is friendly and courteous. It is within a mile of some nice restaurants where you can eat lunch and dinner. If you are going... More

I absolutely love historic inns and historic locations; so I was excited to be going to the Fort Conde Inn. While I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, and I enjoyed the quality of the property - along with the appreciation for what is being done, I was actually a little disappointed. However! - please understand that my disappointment will... More

Everything you'd want in an inn experience. The location is prime! Soooo close to bars & activities. David, one of the family members that runs this beauty, is a true gem. He upgraded us b/c he felt like it. 😊We had the pleasure of meeting his sister who was visiting. They were gracious & fun. Breakfast was outstanding. Bedding was... More

What a fab place to stay - an old home with great rooms . So much character. Breakfast served at one large table with good choices. My omelette was delicious, as was the fruit & hot Scones. Reasonable too.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Fort Conde Inn, Alabama's only 4-star, AAA four diamond rated boutique hotel and bed and breakfast, is a luxurious facility exuding the style and feel of nineteenth century Mobile. Requiring two years of meticulous workmanship, the Inn has now been restored to its original Victorian splendor. Built in 1836, the Fort Conde Inn (Hall-Ford House) is Mobile’s second oldest house and its interior and exterior finishes reflect its architectural vintage from original heart pine flooring and custom-milled stairways, moldings, and window and door trim to marble fireplace mantles, plaster walls, 12 foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The Fort Conde Inn, located in Mobile's historic Fort Conde Village, has recently expanded to include four newly restored hisorically certified homes: The Antunez House, the Spear-Barter House, as well as the Blakely and Gonzalez cottages. Walking into the Inn today, is like taking a step back in time to when these homes were originally built. The Inn sits on a quiet street in Fort Conde Village surrounded by Victorian homes restored with integrity and respect for their architectural heritage. It is situated adjacent to Fort Conde, a pre-revolutionary war fort built by the French in 1720 and named after the Prince of Conde, a grandson of Luis XIV. Mobile was founded by the French and the fort protected Mobile from incursions by the British. In recognition of the French heritage of this land, the rooms at the Inn have been named in French after friends and family members of the owner. ... more   less
