1. The bed sheets and blankets have red colour watermark! When we inform the worker they just simply said that all the bed sheets and blankets are the same and pass you a white colour cover and they refuse to change a new bed sheets a d blankets for you! 2. The wifi connection is bad ! 3. The air conditioner is not functioning! When you identify the problem to the workers, they just put you to wait one hour at the mid night to test the air conditioner before they change the room for you! 4. Early morning keep knocking your door and wake you up just to take a remote control from your room! 5. The Indian receptionist who work and night shift talk with glasses super unfriendly and provide horrible service! After all this incident they never say “Sorry” at all! Cleanliness, facilities comfort and staff this four items shall not score more than one !

The staff is friendly and provided directions to Jonker St. The room has modern renovation, although not much space to walk around. Good for a night or two to sleep. Location is a bit of a walk to Jonker St, especially when the streets are not pedestrian friendly. There is hot/cold water dispenser only on the ground floor kitchen. Overall a good choice for those on a budget.

I was on a working trip to Malacca and was looking at a place which is nearby the school to save the travelling time. A friend of mine introduced this place to me. I booked the hotel without looking at the reviews in tripadvisor. Looking at the photos posted, I thought it is a nice budget to stay but not till I checked in. I called the hotel few days before the trip to check whether there is any parking space provided. The person who answered the phone was not in good mood, I presumed. His tone was not friendly. On the day we checked in, the receptionist was not really friendly. There was no escalator, so we had to walk to the second floor by using the stairs. The door lock was loosen; there were ants in the room; there were stains on linen and bedsheet. I called to the front desk to ask for a room change. The answer that I got was : Your room is the best, we don't have any room for you. What we can do is to change your bedsheet and spray the mosquito/ insect spray. The cleaning lady came and helped us to change the linen and bedsheet. It was a difficult task for her as the bedsheets and linens that she brought over were all with minor and yellowish stains. We couldn't anything but to accept since I had paid for nights. There was an awful smell from the bathroom which I believe it was from the drainage system. Both of us had to bear with this condition for two nights. I couldn't sleep well even though I was exhausted. Initially I had booked another two nights for the following week via agoda.com but there wasn't charges yet. Under the free cancellation policy, I woke up at 1a.m. to cancel the booking. I won't recommend this hotel as the hotel operator doesn't upkeep the hotel condition and they do not really understand the meaning of hospitality and friendliness. I understand that with the price that we pay for, we shouldn't ask for more. However, the cleanliness should be taken care of especially pest control. If you do not mind with all these and you have tight budget, you can look for homestay which is really really near to Jonker Walk.
