We five Australians spent 3 nights at Baba House, in February 2007. For price, Position, Cleanliness, Service, and the overall quaint feeling of antiquity, terrific. On a scale of 10 We would give the Baba House 8 or 9. Looking forward to our next visit to Malaysia when we will definately stay there again. Special mention to the friendly staff... More

Stayed in the Baba House for 1 night 27th Jan. We stayed in the "Family Deluxe Suite' -good size rooms with a connecting door. Very dark rooms - which we had expected being a typical Baba style house. However, everything smelt mouldy - the room, the sheets, the pillows and the towels. Two bathrooms - wet rooms - basic and... We, family of 6 with 2 teens, stayed on the ground floor on 25Nov 06. Location is good. However, the rooms had a dam smell and the doors were hard to close. Furniture dusty and needed some maintenance. Very little parking space and would do better with more effort in refurbishing. Neighbouring hotel eg Puri Hotel which has the same peranakan... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in June when it was very quiet ( didn't see anyone else). This meant I had a choice of rooms downstairs ( can't comment on other floors) so I went for the end one down the corridor away from reception. The room was fine(although there was no window onto the outside) it was comfortable... More

My family and I went to Melaka for a holiday during the long DeepaRaya in October 2006. I depended on travel reviews from Tripadvisor when booking online. Therefore, I must say the excellent reviews on this hotel was absolutely accurate! The first impression is of course not so glamorous, it being located in a shophouse. My dad initially disapproved of... More

We stayed in the Baba House for two nights in the 3rd week of January. Since I'm a history buff and like traveling without spending a lot of money on hotels, it fit the bill for us. We got the information from the Lonely Planet. We paid $20US a room for two rooms for two nights. Our son also traveled... More

We arrived at the Baba House at around 5 pm. When we pass by the hotel, it looks like a shop house in front. But we have to drive around the street to reach the carpark which is just directly behind the shop house. From the back, it looks more like a Western (cowboy) type hotel. Once inside, we were...
