I loved the atmosphere of this hotel. The owners have obviously taken pains to retain as much as possible of the ambience of a traditional peranakan house; the hotel even has a "history room". My room and bathroom were perfectly comfortable (if not overly spacious), though I would have wanted a fridge. The people at reception were smilingly helpful about...

This was my second stay at the Hotel Puri and I love it. The feel of the place is gorgeous, courtyard gardens, pond and the wonderful antiques. A great breakfast selection also. We definitely needed the superior room, the standard is very small and without a refrigerator. Would stay here again, great location, just next to Jonker Walk.

The hotel spaces are nicely decorated and the rooms a pleasure to be in. The courtyard is a wonderful place to recuperate from the heat and noise in downtown Melaka. What makes the Puri hotel really enjoyable is the staff. Nothng is too much and the smiles are genuine.

I always return to Hotel Puri as I remembered it as it was, during my first visit - an oasis of calm in busy Jonker Walk. Standards have been dropping since then. It's hard to pinpoint what has gone wrong, because they are all so subtle. Perhaps the front desk could have offered an apology and a warm smile for...

We stayed in a 'superior room' at Hotel Puri and found it to be clean and attractive, with everything we needed. The hotel foyer and courtyards are particularly nice, with traditional Chinese furniture and a carp pond. Breakfast is served in the courtyard and has a range of Chinese food, plus eggs, fruit and toast.

Our room was far from reception (number 137) and right by all the staff areas. We got no help with our bags. The bathroom walls were dirty, as were the towels and bath mat. Our bedroom walls and door were banged on repeatedly after we were in bed. There was lots of clatter and radio noise from the staff areas....

A lovely old house converted into very homely and comfortable hotel. It has expanded since I came some years ago. As usual, I love the calm and cool as I stepped inside. Friendly and helpful staff. Gardens in the courtyard is beautiful space to just rest and chill. Simple, clean rooms. Location is superb next to Jonker. Parking available. Love...

Overall this hotel was pretty nice. Good price /quality ratio - ask for a double bed room thought (upper grade than the standard room), otherwise you will get a room with 2 single beds (weird for a 'standard' room!). The decoration is typpically peranakan/malay/chinese style. Staff is nice. Beautifun garden in the court and breakfast area as well. Only thing:...

Very nice hotel with a historical background of Malacca. Well maintained and located just next to Jonker Street. They provide a decent breakfast with good variety of foods. Within walking distance to a number of historical sites and good food.
