My girlfriend and I stayed in a private double room for two nights, 18th - 20th September 2016. The room was basic but clean, was equipped with a very good fan and a mosquito net. The room was locked with a pad lock that the hostel provided for a 10RM refundable deposit. The staff at Julan Julan were very friendly... More

I spent six days here but because of my travel commitments I had to leave. The staff here are super knowledgeable and a great help. The rooms were spacious and clean and for the first time I had an easy chair to sit in. It was an enjoyable stay and so close to restaurants, city sites etc. Well recommended.

Jalan Jalan has to be given credit for it's fantastic location right at the heart of Malaka and less than a minute walk from the main food/market street. Aside from this however it is very basic, felt pretty unclean and the reception staff were not particularly helpful, friendly or welcoming. The main dorm is fine considering the amazingly cheap price... More

This hostel was extremely cheap so we didn't expect much. They offered free tea and coffee as well as a tour of the town within the room fee. Melaka is a very sleepy town during the week so I would definitely advise going at the weekends for more to do. The hostel didn't have AC but each bed had a... More

The room is considered good for the price. Its drawbacks perhaps are the lack of access to clean drinking water and a lot mosquitoes at night. Nevertheless, I got to share room with some tourists from China, the Netherlands and USA. It is a great experience to be able to exchange knowledge on our culture.

Stayed in a private double en suite which was great value for money with air con and excellent WiFi. Location is perfect for exploring Melaka and you can hire bikes for just five ringgit for the duration of your stay.

This is the first hostel I ever stay. And it changes my opinion that staying in a hostel is not too bad. I stayed in a private single room with fan. It was clean and the location was very strategic. I would definitely recommend this lace for solo traveler and backpackers..

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff (especially Manuel). Room (private double) is ok, with mosquito net which saves you from dozens of mosquitoes around. Dorm beds look a bit less appealing. Some showers even have warm water, but with +30C you don't need to use it. Good wifi. The street is full of temples, so expect to be woken... More

Wow, Jalan Jalan was great. Location was excellent. Met lots of people, from all over the world. The crew were great, helpful and with lots of recommendations. The crew took us to, We cook Indian food at a Temple, then we had breakfast there, went to Doris Chinese medicine bar. Dinner club was a great idea, never seen this before.... More
