Appreciated the August special rate and noticed how clean the bathhouse and pool area were. Very quiet for most part. Will be better once all pull thru sites are full concrete and picnic tables are replaced. Ours was somewhat rotted and the electrical box was missing a back cover....our breaker out there tripped off once, we didn't know why but turned back on and was fine. Overall this is a nice RV park and location is great!
Another great trip to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. We love staying at Island Retreat RV Park. We always have a great stay. The sites are roomy and the facilities are very well maintained. It's our go to RV park when we're ready for a trip to the beach.
This was our first stay at Island Retreat and we will definitely be back! We had a very nice 5 night stay. Upon arrival, office staff was very informative and accommodating. We noticed the spot we were set to be in had very minimal shade, so we asked if there was any other spots available. They did not hesitate to look and moved us to a nice shaded spot across from the pool and playground, which was so nice for our kids. The bathhouses were very clean. The grounds were very clean as well and nicely landscaped. We really enjoyed the bike path that ran right in front of campground as well!
This place is not like the pictures. Sites are small. Not much grass. Pool is very small. We thought by looking at pictures on their website it looked like a nice place. We were fooled. Our 5th wheel was too big for the spot they assigned for us. No grass for the dog. We couldn't unload the bikes because we had to back up to a tree to park. They would not let us move after several spots emptied. Very dissapointed.
We had a great time and the park was very accommodating for our baseball team! We were able to use the club house and the kids and adults had a great time playing indoors and out! The washing machines were a plus too!
Had a great experience at Island Retreat RV Park. Staff very friendly, campgrounds and bathrooms very clean. We had a relaxing 2 week stay. THE RV park was close to everything, but still not on the main drag of Gulf Shores. Rouse Market was great for groceries and could be reached without getting on Gulf Shores parkway. Publix and Walmart close by also. The trail in front of the campground is great for walking or biking. The trail will take you up to Gulf Shores parkway where you can cross and catch the Gulf State Park trails. Sunset at end of Fort Morgan was beautiful.
We had a great stay May 5-11 (we added a day from original plan). We had a pull thru site, but the back-ins had enough space around them that it really wasn’t necessary. It felt very safe with many workers around frequently. 3 yr old granddaughter and I walked and rode bikes all over. My only complaint is that there is no bathroom at the pool and playground area. That is tough with a little kid. Had the clubhouse been built near that central area, that would have encouraged us to participate with things there more and solved the bathroom problem. Again, we had a great time… just mentioning the one and only inconvenience we found.
The entire staff was very friendly and kind. Lots were spacious, bathhouses were well maintained and cleaned 3 times per day plus the swimming pool hit the spot. Many other campers have stayed here multiple times and I know for sure that I will be returning.
I am kind of used to state park camping and this was relatively new experience for us. Island Retreat was a very Nice campground and for as many campers there were it was pretty quiet. The people who worked there were all very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay! A nice campground, a nice pool, although pool was cold when we were there. We were there the first two weeks of April. Good bike trails. Really friendly and helpful people running the place!
