Detailed Reviews

We visit Gadsden at least once a year and always stay at the Gadsden Inn and Suites. Our nonsmoking room was 225 which does not include any toiletries other than a small bar of soap. Also, there is not a hairdryer. Two ice machines are on the first floor near the registration area but one is inoperative. Our room had a large refrigerator and the television worked perfectly. The swimming pool and deck were pristine. We always enjoy sitting in the chairs in front of the hotel and watching the activity on the adjacent Coosa River. The complimentary breakfast is average with cereal, grits, sausage biscuits, etc. The television in the breakfast area is tuned to liberal ABC News which seemed odd in a State that is 75% Conservative. FOX would have been more appropriate. Complimentary, The Gadsden Times newspapers are available. The hotel is adjacent to a chicken eatery and a block away from the Downtown Chief restaurant. We walked 1/2 mile to The Gridiron for cold beer and fries. One block west of the hotel is a VFW for members of the organization, and you must present your membership card to gain access. There are several more restaurants in the downtown area.

Room Tip: Avoid attempting to cross the bridge over the Coosa River since the traffic moves at a snail’s pace.

Always our favorite place to stay when we are near Gadsden. We occupied room 234 (downstairs) which has two comfortable queen beds and a large tub with jets. There is also a large refrigerator and freezer. Two operable ice machines are in the vending area. We always enjoy sitting out front and watching the river traffic on the Coosa (and savoring the odors from the nearby Coup ‘d’ville eatery… kidding, of course). The earlier reviews by two other contributors are inaccurate and reflect unhappy “guests” who were apparently trying to take advantage of the use of the swimming pool for “friends”. There are no bed bugs and the rooms are not musty and dated. Two wristbands and a pool key were provided to us for use at the pool. The complimentary breakfast is typical, but they still, unfortunately, have ABC News on the lobby TV in the morning …in a conservative South. Fox News, however, is on in the afternoon. For $112 total, we enjoyed our stay.

There are different choices of rooms, but all of them are comfartable and contain everything you need. Even the simplest room has at least a queen bed, a table with 2 chairs, relax seat, big shower, flat screen TV, free wifi, coffee maker and micro wave, iron and iron board. In most cases you'll have a parking spot in front of your room. All rooms are smoke free. You can get free continetal breakfast that can be used either at the reception area or in your room and also vending machines are available. There is a wonderfull outdoor pool with waterfall and sunbeds, but for those who don't love the sun, they can also get some shade under the gazebo. The property and rooms are very clean and the whole staff is very friendly and helpfull. You really get value for money.
If you cross the Coosa River bridge, you'll find a shopping area where you'll find all kinds of shops and super market. For those who like to go shopping there is also Broad Street, the main shopping street, within walking distance. You are also very close by many famous restaurants where you'll find all kinds of food.
This hotel is also very popular for fisher man, because there is enough parking space for cars with boat trailers and the Coosa landing is also very close.

We stayed in rm 219 with 2 queen beds which was a smoking room. The room was immaculately clean & fresh & smelled better than your typical non smoking room. How do they do that in a smoking room?!!
Save for the wooden furniture, the room appeared to have been recently renovated.
The mattresses were very comfortable & had double top sheets plus fluffy pillows.
The room was extra large and had an untypically large fridge with separate freezer.
And the bathroom has a soaker tub which we especially loved.
We will definitely stay here every year on our way up & back to the Smoky Mountains!
You can’t beat it for $101/night and that’s including tax.

A nice hotel for the price, and only one block from the VFW! Other than the occasional cigarette smoke we especially enjoyed sitting in the chairs in the front and watching the Coosa River drift by. We stayed in room 134 which was large and included two queen beds. The bathroom lacked shampoo and a hair dryer. The complimentary breakfast was simple but adequate with sausage biscuits, cereals, fruits, juices, and coffee. We will return.

Older place but well cared for. Pool looked wonderful but thunderstorms ruined that plan. Staff pleasant and very helpful. Did not do the breakfast, so cannot comment on that. We got a room with a kitchenette, that was nice. The shower head is very low, not a problem for me, but my 6 foot + son had to duck. Only suggestion, you may want to clean the floor a little better, feet got rather black after walking barefoot.

Stayed in the king kitchenette room which was very nice and spacious. One downfall is the pool and fitness room were separate areas, so we drove to the fitness room and walked to the pool. The pool is nice, and the waterfall is pretty, but very congested and was unable to do much swimming with that many people. The fitness room was a total nightmare, this was a major disappointment. The pool tables were not in any condition to be used, the equipment was full of kids and teens just messing around all three times we tried to use it. We didn't do the breakfast so no comment on that.

Plain but very clean. Bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The bedspread had what appeared to be a cigarette burn even though our room was non smoking. Good location. Great value for the money. Breakfast was below par but not horrible. Staff is friendly.

The worst place to book in Gadsden! Bed bugs on the beds and the room set you back in the 80s. Staff and the owner are extremely rude. If you like to spend the night in musty smelly room with no air book here.
