We stayed here during our 22 day Trivandrum-Sikkim road-trip for two nights. Excellent location; for example, walkable distance from Howrah Bridge. The rooms lack maintenance, the infrastructure is very old and the toilets are not very clean. Also, I wasn't very impressed the staff even though some of them were okay. We paid Rs. 3000/- for an AC double room....

Hotel has really dirty rooms, pathetic toilets and a really old infrastructure. One should stay in this hotel unless its utmost necessary. Centrally located hotel which is the only plus point. As far is the staff of the hotel is concerned, they are ok ok, you won't feel bad dealing with then neither happy.

Hotel Himalay is centrally located, close to Sealdah Railway Station. It is nice budget hotel with clean rooms and is ideal for business travellers. I reached early in the morning around 7 am and the hotel manager allowed me early check in :)

May 19th 2016, stayed with my wife. Front desk persons are very unprofessional, uncivilized and point out all odds. E.G: How you can proof Kabita Mitra is the wife of Biswajit Mitra. Can you proof of your age, mentioned in your PAN card. Why original Aadhar card is not with you. Typical questions in this Modi saab ERA?

Very unwelcoming staff, especially the ones at the reception. Very unpleasant while speaking and are non-cooperative in nature. Though, the guards, lift-man, and room boys were well-mannered, what made me sad were the receptionists. We had checked-out at 12:00 noon and had train at 6:00 pm, so for some time we were sitting in the lounge of hotel in front...

The hotel was safe during the earthquake, the service is slow but I spent almost 3-4 weeks there and the team was very friendly. A bit of works needed in the rooms, but still a good place to call the night

As a westerner travelling in India, really, this does pretty much what it says on the tin. Rooms were reasonably clean. Bathroom did the job it was required to do, even though the shower was a bit rickety. For the price you're paying you shouldn't expect the Hilton . But believe me I've paid more and I've stayed in a...
