This is not 5 star, 3 at a push ! and it is a home stay, don't think it is a hotel. We were collected at the airport and took an 'interesting' journey to the House, as mentioned previously the road to the house is shocking and if you have a bad back etc I strongly advise that you give this a miss, I can understand why one review said that they decided to stay at the house and not travel to much!, yes the Government are doing some work to the road but it is not on the final 2-3 miles that is the worst. We visited in March and the house was freezing, they have no central heating, there is a heater in the bedroom and we had an electric fire in the bathroom ! In the evening they light a fire for you at dinner, but the fire is not started until you sit down for dinner. We slept with the electric blanket on all night. There is no entertainment as promised and one night after dinner we sat chatting and all the lights were turned off and the staff went to bed. The food is poor. There is no information at the hotel about trips etc and we had to keep asking if we could do this or that. A simple sheet with what is in the area would be really helpful. The one plus point of the house was the staff, the English is not great but either is our Indian but they are very helpful and try their hardest, however the management have a lot of work to do especially with the heating, having dinner in a coat and gloves is just not acceptable. Would we return ? Not if it was free !

We stayed in Ging Tea house for 2 days, the service was superb, very attentive staff, bending over backwards to meet your every wish. The tea garden has breathtaking views. The food all 3 meals plus Tea was outstanding and served so respectfully and graciously very well . Its an old English house that is well preserved and caters to all your needs. We had a driver that was part of the package and saw sunrise over Kanchenjunga, followed by a breakfast to die for served on a picturesque Gazebo overlooking the tea gardens. Downtown Darjeeling is very overcrowded but Ging Tea House 20 mins away seems like a quiet haven. I highly recommend this paradise if you are in Darjeeling only if you cannot take winter temperatures go in spring or fall. The Steam Train was also so much fun to ride on.

Waking up to scenic beauty and sunrise. Chilled weather with hot tea and warm home cooked full course meals.. Away from City, in middle of hills.. Couldn't have wished for more.. A place to be with your loved ones, a superb and humble service staff. The Ging tea house team gets 10/10 and the place gets 8.5/10.. We loved the hospitality and the beauty of tea estate.. P.s. Learnt more about tea and tea making than sipping one..

Located at a picturesque location away from hustle bustle of the Darjeeling city. Beautiful rooms with old world charm and beautifully matched decor of the rooms based on their name . Its a old colonial house which has maintained its charm but has been fitted with all required comforts. Service is excellent starting from pick up from airport with picnic on the way. Warm welcome, delicious food, immediate assistance with tour, tea factory visit, tea tasting and best of all bonfire night with music. Highlight of the trip was breakfast in the beautiful garden - just the thing you need for a relaxing break. It has a wonderful chef woes veg momos are highly recommended. Manager Andrew arranged for all our tours and last minute trips to town as well. All staff are courteous and very welcoming. Place is highly recommended for a total relaxing and undisturbed break in the beautiful hills.
