While the public areas, guestrooms and suites, Library Blu, Jamavar and Spectra have been designed by Jeffrey A. Drawn from the inspiration of Chettinad Dynasty, the architecture of the Palace Hotel exudes the regal and opulent style. Set on 4.8 acres of land, the 11-storeyed hotel features 326 rooms and suites. Equipped with world-class amenities, the meeting and conference centres are luxuriously and lavishly spread. Its close proximity to the central business district and local attractions and having a spectacular sea view on offer is sure to make the experience of our guests a very memorable one.

Hotel's Favorite
its hard to describe the difference between an American hotel and an Indian hotel, but there are a great many. I think you probably start with the materials - as i wandered into the wonderful entrance garden of this hotel, the warm Chennai air smelling of real evening jasmine, the real flames from the torches reflecting in the water if the reflection pool i thought (for just a moment) of last week - in The Clarion Hotel at Philly Airport, where i was served my breakfast in a cardboard bowl to save on washing up. I think the service is the other part of this experience that is truly stand out, from the personal greeting, the wonderfully fragrant jasmine Lay they give you as a welcome, the booking in process with a cool drink on a sofa rather than at a counter with an under paid and under motivated worker - beautiful, calm, if this doesnt make you feel welcome then i am not sure what would. The hotel has all the trappings, lovely lounge, a slightly weird 'Library Blu' which is trying to figure out if it is a cool lounge bar or something more clubby and ending up neither. It was a bit sad, but I could imagine good nights in here. The food is excellent a lavish spread of all kinds of international foods in the morning for breakfast and a choice of different restaurants - either 'multi cuisine' or 'local'. I'd do local - the Indian food is truly delicious. Now the rooms - they are nice, they remain cool which is good in the infernal heat of Chennai, but they are actually not that luxurious. Which is actually quite a good thing as i think it helps with cool. Wooden floors with rugs, crisp and starched bed linen - like all beds in India - a fairly firm mattress. Big desk, big tv, some nice touches, a little jar of cookies, a personalized note when you arrive. Interestingly though no Iron in the room which is an obvious miss when you think that a lot of travellers will have come in from a distance and will need to press clothes. But generally, most hotels i have stayed in could learn a thing or two from this hotel about how to equip and present a room - it really is lovely. And heres the crazy part - all this, beautiful views across to the Indian OCean, swimming pools, jasmine, courtesy, service, friendly faces - for a little over $100 a night. Incredible. You'd give it 6 stars for value and 6 stars for service if i could, it is simply setting the bar and very view US hotels would even come close.

I was tasked with hosting a farewell dinner for 20 people from my organization and among the list of Hotels that could do this, I selected The Leela for the following reasons: 1. Within the City 2. Good Ambience 3.Great Staff 4. Amazing Food The restaurant manager - Ajay made our evening memorable right from the start till end of dinner. He was available for any questions and his polite deameanor still stands fresh in many people's mind. True to his words, the 3.5 hours spent was blazing fast and it was time for us to leave. Right from welcoming us to closing the evening was such an experience, I am sure I will choose The Leela next time for the best host Ajay was.

After a huge search of hotels in the city and comparisons we ended up with Leela for my daughter's first birthday celebration. Me and my husband din't want to compromise on smallest details too. We were quite picky and had so many meeting with the banquets personnel before we said a yes. So it was Ms.Srividhya who handled the entire event and all the coordination. We had a brief meeting with Chef Nesamai for menu selection. We took 3 hrs to decide on the menu,Ms.Srividhya n the chef were so accommodative and even accepted our request for Biryani tasting and assured us the best of quality and taste will b provided. The event was a huge success and the food turned out to be extra ordinary and every other guest appreciated us for the food taste. I would highly recommend Leela palace for your events. Thanks again to the entire team for pulling off a great show. Not to forget, we had a great stay and an amazing breakfast too.
