I know this hotel quite well to have gone there few times. The building is beautiful, it's an old typical rajasthani haveli, rooms are spacious, the decoration is fine, the garden is nice also, and there is a swimingpool which is nice to enjoy if you are on holidays; but it's not so comfortable, mattresses on bed are quite bad... We went to Bar Palladio for dinner and the service was the worst ever experienced in India. The wait staff were arrogant and basically we felt like we were an inconvenience. The space and decor is divine and I'm sure attracts a lot of foreign visitors so it's a pity the experience is so unpleasant because of the people. Following... More

As far as heritage properties in Jaipur go, this one is probably the worst value. It is much better to stay in places like Shahpura House, Alsisar Haveli, Diggi Palace or Samode Haveli than this places (even though, the 4th one is substantially higher priced). The only plus point of this hotel is its garden with peacocks. The restaurant is... More

If you every wish to experience how the kings and the queens used to stay, this is your place. With least touch up of modern architecture this place still has its original heritage in place. Food is sumptuous and the ambience around is lush green and breath taking. You can spot some beautiful peacocks dancing just right at your hotel... More

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in this peaceful oasis. The hotel is absolutely stunning, surrounded by large, quiet (apart from the peacocks!) gardens. Our room was decorated in the same palace-style with high ceilings and all amenities. Everything was meticulously clean and well-maintained. The hotel restaurant has a large menu with something to everyone's taste, for very fair... More

We did not know what to expect when we checked in. Next day morning, I woke up with the sound of Peacock. When I came out of my room, many peacocks were in the garden. I wanted my kids to have a different experience than staying in a hotel. Narain Niwas palace hotel made this happen. The kitchen staff was... More

This was my second visit to Jaipur, the first time I stayed at Samode Haveli which was close to heaven. Narain Niswas Palace was cheaper but that came with consequences. I stayed 4 nights and was allocated a room on the first floor which was massive with an elevated 4-poster bed which needed a step to climb up in to.... More

The Niwas Narain Palace was one of the few heritage hotels we stayed in on our tour of Rajasthan. I was travelling with a companion and we had booked separate rooms. Unfortunately, they couldn't offer us rooms together, so we ended up a long way apart. My room was a small villa in the grounds of the hotel, the bed... More

Lovely room facing the garden, near the pool. Quiet room with heritage decor. Nice grounds and great to have peacocks wandering around. We were on a yoga tour and this hotel was perfect for peaceful yoga in the garden.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
he Narain Niwas Palace Hotel, a Heritage Hotel, provides a good example of history amalgamating with modern times. Centrally located in Jaipur, the Pink City of India, the palace was built in the 19th century by General Amar Singh Ji, the then Thakur of Kanota. Designed in a fanciful version of The Anglo-Indian style popular in the Victorian Era, the palace now serves as a hotel. The Palace has all the modern amenities and a place where one can enjoy traditional Rajput Hospitality. Decorated with Rajput Flourishing, Rajasthani Furnishing and Traditional Jaipur painted wall decor in a typically bold colour palette; Narain Niwas was built in the 1928 by General Amar Singh, Thakur of Kanota, and Commander of the Jaipur State Force. ... more   less
