Rajmahal Palace is one of the oldest and most treasured properties in the 'Pink City' of Jaipur. RAAS has taken over Rajmahal Palace from 1st April 2021. Belonging to the Royal Family of Jaipur, this exquisite private palatial home is set in the prime location in the center of Rajasthan's bustling capital. An enclosed oasis, secluded in exquisite gardens, Rajmahal Palace eludes a sense of celebrated history. The tall bay windows, mirrored doors and exquisite interior decor allow guests to be transported to a new era of regal living. Over the decades this remarkable Palace has hosted Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth & the Duke of Edinburgh to stay at Rajmahal Palace, along with several other members of the British Royal Family. Celebrated personalities such as Jackie Kennedy, Lord & Lady Mountbatten and many of the international 'jet set' have been part of the history and enjoyed the wonderous hospitality within the Palace walls. After careful and meticulous restoration work, by celebrated designer Mr Adil Ahmad, the Palace successfully embodies the heritage of it's past life, maintaining the original, stunning marble staircase, intricate chandeliers, and treasured family possessions, whilst transporting guests into a new Era. Initially compromising of 13 Royal Apartments, Suites and Palace Rooms we invite guests to be a part of the future of Rajmahal Palace and share this extraordinary home with us.

Very warm welcome back and shown to the Resident’s Suite which we have stayed in before and like a lot. Nishant was our butler throughout and was attentive without being intrusive. The hotel had secured the guide we have used previously who no longer works for Trans India Trailfinders' agent in India. CS (Chitranjan Singh Rathore) is a really good guide and knows what we like and took us to Paliwal Textiles among others for our shopping. We also visited some new sights with him.
When we returned to Jaipur at the end of our trip we were given another suite to try – The Prince’s Suite – very grand on the ground floor! On our last night we were invited to dine in the Pink Dining room which was lit by lots and lots of candles, quite special and truly memorable.
The complimentary afternoon tea and laundry are really nice touches.
The furnishing in this hotel are fabulous as is everyone who works there.

Even on a business trip you are able to switch off to the most dreamiest of lands where this establishment looks after your stay to the second you stepped in. A stay that undoubtedly you will never forget…for the right reasons. The location is great, of course amenities, gardens, food and beverages are organic sourced at their own organic garden their flavours are exceptional.

The Rajmahal Palace is an incredibly beautiful hotel - every room is outfitted with stunning wallpaper and beautiful furniture and every detail has been chosen with an eye for design and great care, be it in the restaurants or common areas or in the suites. The china at breakfast complements the furniture and wallpaper, the decor in the rooms is beautifully chosen, and even the uniforms of the hotel staff complement the overall design. Service in the hotel is absolutely impeccable! Extremely friendly and attentive. It has been our favourite hotel on this trip, unparalleled. The food is fantastic as well - breakfast offers a broad choice of a la carte Indian dishes as well as continental favourites, eggs etc, dinner also offers Indian as well as intl cuisine. The meals are either taken indoors in one of two rooms with the feel of a winter garden as one side is glass and opens up towards the lawn/patio, or outside on the lawn, where bonfires are lit during dinner time.

We stayed for 2 nights and weren’t particularly happy with our stay. Whilst the grounds are nice, the hotel does not live up to a 5 star reputation.

The staff are nice but they don’t all speak English which made communication difficult. The service isn’t good enough in general.

The hotel only provide filtered water and charge for bottled mineral which is not good enough for a country where you have to be so careful about the water.

The pool area has no service. It’s an unclean pool with pigeons drinking from the water so I doubt it’s chlorinated. I didn’t want to go in.

The gym was very basic and rather dirty with a dusty smell.

Whilst they’ve made an effort to design the rooms sticking to a theme, they all lack windows and don’t feel fully clean. The views and sound proofing aren’t good either.

Sadly our shower water wasn’t warm or powerful.

I have stayed in 5 star hotels in Delhi and Agra and this is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel, either with respect to the property or the service. Perhaps 100 years ago this was spectacular, but it is now a very tired, gloomy hotel. Yellowed wallpaper, chipped paint, poorly tended lawns and grounds, broken shades, rusted gates, etc. The service was just average, not at all worthy of five stars. No help or interest in helping finding restaurants. (My tuk tuk driver was a better source of information for restaurants.) If you are looking to splurge on a five star trip around the Golden Triangle, the Rajmahal Palace should not be included. If the owners invested in a major renovation of the rooms and grounds and upped the number and quality of staff, then there is the potential for a five star property. Now, not even close.

One of the hidden gems of Jaipur, this place is what a relaxing sunday can be defined as.
Nestled in the beautiful premises of Sujan Rajmahal Hotel, this quaint cafe boasts a small yet absolutely delicious menu.
Fresh from their organic gardens ingredients make the food unparallel with brilliant pairings already done for you by the chef or completely customisable as per your weird wacky choices!
I suggest the sliders as well as any of their pizzas but what one must try is their buratta which absolutely fresh and gooey mass of deliciousness.
The virgin Strawberry daiquiri was refreshing and despite the winter chill, felt perfect.

The buratta pizza shone the brightest with fresh buratta and fresh basil leaves and i can not stop recommending it!

The Rajmahal is an absolutely exceptional property with a completely distinctive sense of place and fabulous hospitality that feel as though you are staying in your (very, very chic) friend’s home vs. a hotel.

The interiors are truly something out of a dream and, if you’re a lover of the decorative arts, simply cannot be missed. Dinner in the hot pink dining room was spellbinding, breakfasts in the mint green colonnade felt legitimately regal, and cocktails in the Polo Bar were the epitome of sophistication. This is a hotel for travelers who love to dress up and who yearn for hotels with a true sense of place.

As in all of India, the service at the Rajmahal was remarkable. If we needed a dress steamed or jacket pressed, we’d just pick up the phone and 5 minutes later it would be back in our room. We enjoyed three days with the hotel’s private driver who was incredibly kind and a fabulous driver in the crazy streets of Jaipur.

Everything about our stay at Rajmahal was exceptional and we truly cannot wait to return!

A majestic palace showcasing both Rajasthani hospitality and grandeur. This elegant hotel which was once occupied by the Jaipuri Royal family is whimsical, charming and stylish - something representative of the pink city with a splash of Wes Anderson. The team led by dilip and bharti are attentive and courteous.

The food was interesting and to be tried to get an authentic introduction to the local cuisine. Produce is sourced locally from the organic garden or markets nearby. The team prepared lunch on long journeys for me which added a special touch.

A lovely art deco theme runs throughout the hotel even poolside! If you love architecture and interiors you really are in for a treat!

The Raas hotels are indeed superb and this one in particular is a must on any trip to this majestic city.

What an utter delight, you could be in a different era, with Jackie O and Nero!!
An oasis of palatial calm and luxury, decorated with flair and sympathetic to the building, with only 13 suites and rooms You could really be a private guest at the palace, the service was exceptional our waited Danish was a real delight, he could not do enough, the food was always fabulous, we kept it “Indian” and were not disappointed.

The pool was another delight, a mint sorbet just arrived whilst we were sitting there, such ambience everywhere. It was just like going back in time to the days of the Raj, simply glorious

Does it have a restaurant? Does it serve lunch and dinner? How much is an average meal?
Answer from Jain C

Yes it has two restaurants, one where we had breakfast which was extremely good, particularly the juices they make. We ate in the dining room on two occasions and it was the same sort of price as you are paying in top class hotels in India. As the responder above says, drinking alcohol in India pushes the price up considerably since it is very highly taxed. We drank Kingfisher Ultra beer which was reasonable. If you are there at teatime do have tea on the lawn, I seem to recall it was complimentary and if you have to leave early ask for a packed breakfast as it is exceedingly good.
