Great location for peace and quite in the middle of a hectic tour. Limited food choice but the owner and staff could not be more helpful in explaining dish contents. Separate lodges giving village feel and quaint travel modes from main road to resort through rural landscape and local village.

The village retreat is in a beautiful setting. There's a great Rajasthani welcome, with flowers, cold drinks, etc. The food was good, the bungalows are attractive. The shortcomings are the tired, very well used bathroom facilities and a lack of space for clothes storage. The latter wasn't too important as we were there only one night so we managed. Now... One of our locations to stay on our recent guided tour of part of India was the little complex called Geejgarh village retreat in Rajasthan. The owner has run the complex for around ten years now and includes quaint modes of travel around the village as the roads are narrow and bumpy. The little lodges are ideal for a night's... More

Reasonable lodges accessed via a village which was great. Food choices very limited but still a great experience. Would benefit from sun loungers and a pool as nothing, except bird watching, to do in the resort. X

A beautiful setting, quaint little lodges and warm staff. The was limited choice with the food, but everything was delicious so it didn't matter. We had a great music and dance display one evening by local performers. A dark and chilly bathroom, but otherwise a magical place to stay!

This is real little gem. The cabins are basic but very adequate for a one night stay. The owner and his staff could not do enough for their guests. The food was some of the best I have had in India. Organic homegrown vegetables from his farm. This food was better than the 4and5 stars we have stayed at. The... More

The restaurant was small and the food ok, there are no real amenities to speak of, all staff were very friendly and helpful, the aircon in... More

We reached the Village Retreat sitting in a cart, what I would call a tumbrel, drawn by a horse. Then after a welcoming drink we visited the village this was by camel cart, but I was too near to my camels bum for comfort. We were introduced to the villages whose children ran to meet us. We were made very... More

We were the only visitors staying on the night we were there, but we were treated like royalty. We had the choice of a camel and cart or the farm truck. We opted for the farm truck, which they draped the seats with cloth for us. It was an experience of rural India at its best. We had a cookery... More

Amazing service and very relaxing. Great insight into village life. Amazing staff but facilities basic and no wifi or TV. Hotel laid on entertainment and arranged a camel ride and cookery demonstration and massage. Food all organic and home grown and beautifully prepared. A great experience but one night more than enough
