This is a lovely restful oasis in India. A travel group I was in stayed here and my friend and I had a beautiful room near the pool. Very important to me in the heat. Service was impeccable and the dining room welcoming.
It’s now weeks ago since we were in India, just as the world was about to be turned upside down & the here & now of living Covid-19 total lockdown…..however there is no 2 ways about it India certainly stole our hearts. So I have been wanting to write this review on our wonderful Haveli in Jaipur & share how our story evolved. Started in Delhi then onto to Agra where the ‘Wonder of the world’ the Taj Mahal we’d come to witness, on that very day closed down. Next we were informed that the southern part of our tour to Kerala was now cancelled….great sadness, disappointment & frustration were some of our emotions as this trip had taken months of planning however it was such a wonderful surprise to arrive in Jaipur at our accommodation for the next 3 nights, the gorgeous Khandela Haveli. It offered plenty of room to make it our own since many tourists were now on the mission to head home as rumours & news re Covid-19 started to escalate. With guidance from our tour operator @indianpanorama we decided to at least complete the last part of our Northern Indian adventure in Jaipur. Our stay was so lovely, huge comfy stunning rooms, plenty of beautifully decorated communal space including a lush rooftop pool restaurant area. However what really made our stay so special were the staff who went out of their way to help, advise & truly spoil us. We would like to say a special thank you to, Pooran Singh our hugely attentive, caring & friendly waiter, Govind Singh, the very professional manager who aided us when trying to change our flights back to the UK & Australia & the welcoming doorman Senidan Singh always giving us a helping hand. We will be back to finish off what we set out to do, after all we missed out on the Taj Mahal total experience & as we loved Jaipur we will definitely return to the “Absolutely fabulous Khandela Haveli!’…
Lovely hotel In Jaipur. Suites were lovely. Staff were very attentive, we ate poolside lunch and also breakfast at the hotel. It was lovely to have a rooftop Pool. Only downsides were having to switch the water heater on 10 minutes before showering and also we were affected by the kitchen noise early in the morning
Haveli are smallish hotels which were once grand houses. They are usually built around an open air courtyard and this one is no exception. The main guy on reception spoke excellent English and was also a fluent French speaker and the majority of the guests were French. The Haveli was very clean, service was excellent and the rooms comfortable enough although beginning to look a bit dated. The food was excellent and we dined one night in the open courtyard which was really lovely.
Pros: Lovely inner courtyard. Good shower. Helpful staff. Secure grounds. Sitting area with newspapers. Cons: No windows with views. Hot water is short lived (less than 5 minutes) Uninspired breakfast buffet. The tiled walkways echo noise so it can be noisey depending on the other guests and if they decide to have a party outside your room.
