This was THE mid-range place to stay for many years, but the age is showing--it could use some paint and major clean-up, bit still, it is great location, relatively quiet (for India) and about as cheap as you can get for central Mumbai these days (though no great bargain by other location standards). VERY kind owners are a big plus!
We stayed one night at hotel lawrence. The manager was very kind and the all hotel quite clean! Don't expect wifi or electricity but the price goes with it! Good location to visit south mumbai, near gate of india! :)
This is the cheapest place to stay in mumbai and very basic and I mean basic you have to charge your phone up at the reception lol. not for every one but for £10 hay ho and owners are exocentric characters I loved it for the experance and would stay there again. the 5* is for value 4 money
A quaint old world charm hotel located in a quiet Kala Goda area. Used to be a regular chilhood haunt when along with my parents we would come to bombay for a holiday. Such a nostalgic visit this year after almost 43 years!!Brought back a flood of memories . Everything seemed just like it was decades back, clean basic rooms old furniture, and presently evver helpful owner Michael Abreu who makes sure your stay is pleasant. Fantastic rates you cannot imagine in such a locality of Mumbai . Very close to all the happening places ,decent budget restaurants, eateries etc. Dont be misled by the old antiquated appearance of the building outside and the dimly lit creepy staircase, when a have awaits you inside!!! Highly recommended.
Good value for backpackers in central Colaba. Well located near attractions and restaurants. Very basic, although our room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Shared bathrooms. Michael and Lily are really kind and helpful hosts.
