This place is a total bargain for its location! Close to some great cafes and shops in a nice area of Mumbai. The couple who run it are LOVELY. It's quite hard to find and you have to go up a very poorly-lit staircase - if you're travelling alone maybe try not to arrive late at night because while the... More

Thankfully most taxi/auto drivers know where this is, as it's hard to find. Great location once you're there if you're interested in exploring the Colaba and Churchgate areas. No power points in the rooms is a huge loss though when you need to charge things. Michael lets you charge things in the office though. Definitely not a luxury hotel!

This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Lawrence, the location is absolutely perfect. Tucked in a quite side street just 10 minutes walk to the gate of India it really is an amazing location for just 1000inr a night. it is difficult to find so Google the hotels phone number and have the address with you for... The price for this location is a bargain (1000 rupiahs for a double). But don't expect to get luxury here: there are homeless people sleeping in the staircase, the shared toilets are very difficult to flush and the floor in the shared bathrooms are almost always dirty. The beds are hard but there's surprisingly little noise here. You charge the... More

Hotel was in a great location, although a little hard to find at first! Owners were very friendly and willing to do anything to better your stay. Rooms were big however did not have any power points. Bathroom was clean but no hot water. Great price for Mumbai!

Really nice owners and a great location - don't be put off by the somewhat ramshackle stairs up. Very cheap rooms by mumbai standards, which are simple, plain and clean. Great location with good museums, food, drink options all close to you.

It is one of the cheapest places for a double in Mumbai (Rs.1000) and is in a really awesome area- perfect for exploring the city. Room was pretty clean and beds were comfy however there was no power sockets in the room which is a bit of a pain... Bathrooms down the hall are a little shabby but fine. Staircase... More

Actually I would rate it with: ok, how I did it in the title. But for Mumbai Accommodation it is in my opinion very good. The owners are VERY friendly and helped me out with everything!! The rooms are ok and clean. Unfortunately there was not a single plug in the room itself. But you can charge your stuff in... More

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. The owners are really kind and helpful. They explained a lot and I could ask them everytime. The rooms are big enough and clean. The things I didn't like are the shared bathrooms because they weren't really clean and in the room is no power station so you have to charge at the... More

Liked: it was cheap (950inr/double) and the room itself was clean Disliked: the shared bathroom was horrendous. One time I went in there to discover a huge pile of short curly black hairs all over and in the toilet, as though someone had just, ahem, mowed the lawn and left the trimmings where they lay. I mentioned this to the... More
