The hotel is well located, and the proprietor is friendly, but the room was crawling with ants and the sheets were pungent with mildew. It was difficult to feel comfortable there. I'm sure you can find better accommodations near by. (This review needed this additional sentence to meet the minimum number of characters).

I called ahead the morning of and Raj said he could only pre-confirm, whatever that meant, and that I should call when in Mumbai. I did, and they said ok come down. I was suspicious but went straight there from the airport. Sure enough, they said no, no rooms. They don't care at all about guests, and certainly don't honour... More

Expensive (you pay 2500R for a room without any breakfast), noisy (just behind the hotel there are many kitchens from restaurants which are very noisy), not clean at all (there was still some dust on the floor) and the receptionist is very unpleasant (ask in a rude way for the cash in advance, charges 100R to keep the luggage one... Pricey place but a very nice hotel, and its Mumbai. We paid 3500 which isn't to bad when you can split it with someone. We stayed in one of the rooms upstairs. The shower was amazing, the room was big, beds were comfy. The location is a great place to, walking distance to the gateway of India, good shopping, good... More

Looking for a beautiful classic colonial building in the heart of Mumbai that is cheap and affordable !!! well this sounds impossible but there is a gem that shines among the many dumps in this area, so look no further. Moti is a fantastic hotel, first time we arrived we were treated like family. given a great room for its... More

We stayed here for two nights paying 2500 for a double room. We were given an overspill room, as the hotel was full, but the room was spacious and comfortable with a decent sized bathroom. Te best thing about this hotel, in its nice old building, was the location n Colaba. Walking distance from the gate, the taj and markets... More

Very well located this hotel is pretty nice colonial style, clean rooms and nice, helpful and funny front office. They only serve breakfast in the rooms. We liked pretty much our stay in the hotel during one night

We arrived at the Hotel Moti following the Lonely Planet recommendation. Their positive review of the place couldn't be farther from the truth. First we got to know the arrogant, fake owner who announced first thing that the 'available' room he mentioned in our e-mail correspondance was already taken - "because you didn't reply to my last e-mail". This was... More

Mumbai is the most expensive city in India and hotel costs will reflect this. The colonial style hotel Moti is located in a quiet leafy street, but ideal for sightseeing, galleries and boat trips to Elephanta. We had a deluxe room but considered the price very reasonable under the circumstances. The room was spacious and clean with two windows and... More

We chose to pay more for a large room with attached bathroom rather than take the smaller room which other reviewers have disliked. It was more expensive than we would usually pay but the location was excellent and there's always a premium on rooms in a big city. We really liked the hotel and thought that the manager Raj was...
