There are no words to describe this gem of hotel. It was my first introduction to India. Old Delhi is all what I read, hectic, noisy, disarray, and in the middle is the Haveli, luxurious, clean and excellent service specially Amit the server who took his time in pampering us from day one. This a must stay hotel for the full experience of India, most enjoyable are the winding corridors to get to this place, get lost in the marre of streets and cables and monkeys and cows! It is an experience worth living.

I read a review in the telegraph newspaper and thought must stay here and I am so glad we did. The whole place is absolute beautiful. The renovation of this old house is astonishing. We had to most beautiful room (which I did not want to leave). The location is excellent for the red fort and the market. The food is amazing. We had the tasting menu and would highly recommend it and on that night they had Indian dancing which was beautiful. I must mention our waiter Dharmendra who was excellent (we stayed in February). We will be reutnring next year when we go to Delhi. If you do not stay you must certainly have a meal here.

Positives. Quaint well revamped boutique hotel. Lovely staff, very welcoming ,accommodating and helpful. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was simple but nice. Negatives. Set in a very poos district of ND. Was told by even the locals to be careful of thieves pick pockets etc. Was a nightmare getting to the actual hotel. It’s set in a gully. Which cannot be accessed by a bike rickshaw. Let alone a tuck tuck rickshaw. And for a car is just a dream. Gully is 1.5mt wide. Smelly, dark ,stinks ,stay dogs, shops all along. Motorbikes scooters zooming past you with no hint of consideration for pedestrians. It was truly a nightmare getting to and from the hotel to some transport. Best part is no one ever heard of the hotel. We had to say Gate no 3 of Jama mosque. And then direct them from there. That was annoying about the blurb on their hotel description that you will be taken back to the days of the Moghuls. What a load of lies. More like slums. The hotel bedroom was very misrepresented from the pics too. We couldn’t open our suitcases on the floor and leave them there. As then we couldn’t get passed them to get to the bathroom. Bathroom was just average. 350 rupees for a small tin of almonds which cost in Uk about 100 rupees. I’m glad I didn’t eat there considering other reviews. Never to return to this hotel. Overall. The literature has been truly misrepresented and is not an honest and correct guide as to what one is actually going to experience.

The hotel is tucked away in the heart of old Delhi. An oasis in the middle of the markets and shopping areas. Close to some of the main sights of old Delhi. The rooftop views and dining areas are fantastic. WE could see kite flying and monkeys running along the roof tops. The staff were extremely helpful when asked. The young man in the restaurant Rajt ? was delightful and went out of his way to help us . We loved our stay

We stayed here at the end of a trip around Rajasthan. Its location is excellent, the renovation is superb, and the staff are wonderful, especially Jirek, who told us about the history of the building and arranged our try at kite dueling on the rooftop. Set in Chandni Chowk, it is an oasis in the bustle of New Delhi. The restaurant does excellent contemporary versions of Indian dishes. We were greeted with a small gracious ceremony and a lovely welcome drink that was a lovely break from the heat of the day.
