The internet defines Jugaad as a colloquial Hindi-Urdu word which captures the meaning of finding a low-cost solution to any problem in an intelligent way....which is what Jugaad Hostels is all about. The basic idea behind Jugaad Hostels is having a rocking time at rock bottom prices and having a local experience of the destination, again without breaking the bank.

About Us

Jugaad Hostels is a chain of travelers’ hostels for travelers by travelers. Jugaad is not just a place to stay, but a place to socialize and connect. To socialize with other travelers, backpackers, vagabonds and connect to the city in your own way. It is a place to share your stories and check-out what others are up to. And most importantly it’s the place to stay away from the tourist traps and experience Delhi like the locals.

We, the people behind Jugaad Hostels have more than 12 years of experience of hosting people in India and showing them a good time.

It all started with our experiences in AIESEC, the world’s largest student organization, where we hosted people from all over the world and traveled to awesome countries. After AIESEC we took it to the next level and started our own Travel Company in 2009 to turn our love for travel and India into some pocket change 

Between the 3 guys behind Jugaad, we have covered almost every part of India and have had some great experiences all over the globe and are always looking for the next adventure.

We started Jugaad to give you a local experience of Delhi and therefore have set up our hostel away from the Touristy trapping and Travel scams of Paharganj and Karol Bagh near the New Delhi Railway station also known as the Backpackers district.

We are in the South of the city only 15mins driving from the Airport and the 2 main Train stations. We are also only few minutes from the most Popular cafe and art districts of Delhi: Hauz Khas and Shahpur Jat and less than 20minutes away from popular sites like the Qutab Minar, India Gate, Connaught Place, Lotus Temple, Humayun’s Tomb etc. We are also well connected by Metro and lots of Tuk-tuks available right under the hostel.

PLACE is good . Location is good . All other staff is great. There is guy named Salman who handles reception in this hostel and he is purely a Anti-India guy. We were having a discussion on rooftop of this property about present political condition of India. Suddenly he jumps in and starts abusing a Member of Parliament on the basis of her religion.Openly abused Hindu religious feelings about COW and eating beef and openly said in front of guest that if this was his property he would have openly served beef and no one cant touch him against it. He openly abused a organisation which is supposed to be biggest Hindu Organisation in world for creating gaps in current society of India and supported freedom of Kashmir on basis of religion. Justifies Triple Talaq as sharia law and compares that thing with Hindus drinking "Gau Mutr" and all. His religious bashing is out of my thinking and still he believes that all attacks on Indian Soldiers are done by RAW and Indian Government. Openly said wrong words about Israelis and Jews. I just wanted to write this review because i felt these kind of guys are not worth talking about and let alone be a manager of a public destination i.e. hostel in this case. This is not the right picture of India which he is presenting in front of tourists and other visitors. And if I personally wanted to get that place shut down by lodging a FIR fore selling Alcohol without license and promoting religious hate I could have done that but owner of property was out of India when I was staying there so I thought writing it here is a good medium to get that owner see this. And I beg all visitors who differ from views of Mr.Salman to visit this hostel and give him a nice knowledgeable lecture about tolerance in India. Most amazing fact I tolerated him instead of kicking his ass like he deserved that day that is best example of tolerance. And I was Listening to all his conversation from another table with a group of boys.

If you are searching a nice and cheap accomodation in delhi and you are travelling solo this is the right place. You meet a lot of great people, and you can get a little taste of the Indian culture in delhi. The staff is very helpful, you can ask for any kind of help and the hostel has a great rooftop to chill!

The bathrooms are tiny and showers are deliberately slow and water is very erratic. Breakfast is paid for approx 210 per day. Or eat outside, Mohammadpur village is a small place, not many options and overtly local, prepare to sit in tiny, dingy eating arrangements with no AC, too much salt and chilli, and surefire DellyBelly. Lounge area is small, old rusty guitar, way smaller space than other far better Hostels at the same price. Madpackers hostel is 100 times better in every way, similar rates, way more backpackers, which means excellant conversations; included breakfast, which is very well put together, also an electric piano and semi acoustic guitar and a large hall to hang out in. The bathrooms take the cake, really big and well styled, total value for money. But the worst is the staff, they belong to lower and backward areas and small villages, they are extremely emotional and weak minded and uneducated. Its also a little disconcerting to see them clean the bathroom toilets everyday. Most cannot speak good quality English, aree not at all well educated and any other expectations can result in a verbal diatribe or a physical risk of personal security. In comparison, Madpackers have better placed and very well behaved staff with decent assets and backgrounds. I wonder why would anyone stay in this extremely boring, lifeless, dull, dirty and unpleasant accommodation. Dont make the rush I made to settle for less price, sometimes its just not worth it. My recommendation, go to Madpackers, Just opposite Hauz Khaz metro, Panchsheel Park S39. I went just last week at 9th July 2019.

We’d been travelling a while and Jugaad was a welcoming respite from the intense sensory experience of Delhi! The comfortable air conditioned room and private bathroom were a relief for my slightly unwell husband. As was the security after a dodgy Uber driver encounter. They even helped organise food for my hubby’s sore tummy. But mostly it was the owner Vasu who made this place for us! As soon as I met him, he was doling out wise and friendly advice to weary travellers around him. Within no time, he’d helped me plan out the rest of our journey including a guide Neggi (who was amazing at a reasonable price) and at no extra cost a stay at his other beautiful hotel Ekaa in Agra! It is truly amazing when someone takes time to really help ease your path. This is what hospitality is really about! Thank you.

This hostel is a clean with enough toilets and showers. The staff is really helpful and friendly and help you with every problem. They have as well a nice rooftop to chill out and to enjoy the sunset. As well food and drinks are available in the hostel. Prices are really responsible as well. Specially the location is as well really nice. If the chaos is to much it's a nice to come back in the hostel. A really peaceful sphere is here.
