During my solo trip to New Delhi, I spent one peaceful night at a hotel nestled in a quiet, leafy suburb, providing a serene escape from the city's hustle. The staff's attentiveness was remarkable, extending from the front desk to the restaurant, making me feel valued and well-cared for. My room, although lacking natural light with a window facing another building, was comfortable and impeccably clean, featuring a bed that was a delight to sleep in. The dark room was ideal for uninterrupted sleep, which suited my itinerary as I mostly needed the room for resting. The hotel's restaurant food was good, making dining there pleasant. This hotel is an excellent choice for solo travelers seeking a quiet retreat with attentive service in New Delhi. I would happily recommend it to others traveling alone, looking for comfort and tranquility in the city. Staff at Carmelo by the name of Raju Singh was great. He explained all the options at the restaurant and provided good suggestions.

I have just stayed for one night. This little oasis is tucked away so hard to find but quiet compared to the rest of Delhi. Lovely grounds and decorated very well. Check in very smooth and the old fashioned way, on paper which was actually lovely. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but plenty. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend

Don’t get fooled by the façade of this hotel although the aesthetics are good this hotel should be on the bottom of anyone’s list by the la k of customer service. Last night at 11pm as was denied entrance by car to friends colony where the hotel is hence I had to leave the car and walk a good five minutes in the dark to reach the hotel. It took them over five minutes to produce the key to my room as the front desk was not managed, this morning I ordered some masala tea at 10:30 and it reached me at 11:20 when before accepting the tea they produced the card machine for me to pay no apologies given. Complete and utter shocked I politely declined the tea and charge as I was in my way out. I was carrying a bag and the front desk stopped me as they thought because I was carrying a bag that I was checking out when that was not the case, clear non existing knowledge of when customers coming or going even in such very small hotel. I will definitely don’t come back I stayed last April and already had issues with their spa however I thought to give them a second chance I should have known better. I cannot stressed enough that if you value customer care and essential amenities this is not the place you are looking for

Response from Devika Singh, General Manager at The Manor
Responded Oct 15, 2023
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at The Manor. We sincerely apologize for any shortcomings you experienced and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Access to Friends Colony West which is a gated community is restricted to Gate 1 after 10pm. It appears you used Gate 3 which is closed at night. We regret the inconvenience you faced but timings of these access points are not something in our control. The hotel does communicate this to all guests before arrival. Our Staff are being trained to improve the speed of check in process which usually should not take more than 5 minutes. There are certain formalities that we need to fulfill before access to the room is given. We regret the delay for the room service order and will definitely make sure this does not happen again. Your satisfaction is very important to us. Please be assured we will look into all your areas of concern and look at ways to improve. Sincerely, Devika Singh

I picked this place because of two key aspects. One aspect was it being located in a secluded area nestled within greenery in a chaotic and crowded city! Other it is one of the original Boutique hotels of the capital city. Both turned out to be a big negative! The fact that it was packed inside a protected residential colony(Friends colony) made the access a bit complicated (even for ride-hailing!). And the hotel is clearly losing its boutique elements. I had also chosen this place mainly because of its glorified Fitness center, which the front desk mentioned upon check-in (without much of an apology, was closed for renovation! This was so wrong. The least they could have done is mention in the mail or the messages they send guests pre-arrival about all things not functional so that guests know what to expect upon arrival! But they didnt bother to inform. Also, like Murphy’s law, everything seemed to break down or not function properly during our stay. The Gym was not open. The flush wasn't working in our toilet. The Wifi connectivity was so terrible I couldn't attend any of my video calls easily. The Coffee machine was not working, so we couldn't even get a simple hot beverage like black coffee. The list goes on! The stay was a big disappointment in general. The only reason I am even giving it 2 stars is because of the very staff who tried to make up for all the failures. LOCATION: Located in a very residential Friends colony with no access to any kind of F & B option or shops. So you will be a captive guest for most parts! DINE + DRINK: INJA the Japanese/Indian fusion cuisine is the main option for Food and drink in the hotel. ROOM: We stayed in Room 4, so this review is based on that; VIEW: No view as a huge wall was blocking anything beyond the sit-out attached to the room; SIZE: Barely spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Ok quality toiletries FACILITIES: No Gym as it was closed for renovation. And No Swimming pool (Which is a huge missed opportunity!) SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to DEEPAK at the Front desk HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Super low-speed Wi-Fi t. A super small Plasma TV screen dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages

It was quite nice, clean and tidy. The best thing about the place was Camillos. The food in the evening was absolutely delicious. One evening, we asked the chef to add potatoes to a dish as apposed to panneer. (Even though the paneer was yummy). Oh, my goodness. It was quite possibly the best meal we had in a month. Having said that, every meal in the four weeks we were in India was divine! Our main gripe was that we needed a packed breakfast for our onward journey. We were given 4 very expensive bananas!!!! Value of breakfast was £20 Not good enough! Rather takes the shine off our stay

Stayed at The Manor many times before Covid when they had a fabulous restaurant called Indian Accent. Now it's been refurbished and there are two new restaurants CAMILLOS ( Italian) and INJA ( Indian/Japanese). Unfortunately things have gone downhill since we last stayed. Firstly I went to lunch at CAMILLOS - I was the only person there and ordered a grilled sandwich. 25 minutes later I asked where it was. No satisfactory reply, so I told them to send out to my room if they ever got it together. Next night it was pouring with rain, and I tried to go to INJA which is off the downstairs corridor. But the door was locked. I asked reception and they told me I had to walk outside in the rain and go around to the other entrance as the indoor entry was no longer available ! They supplied an umbrella - how nice - and how stupid ! After my meal at INJA I asked to the waiter to charge the dinner to my room, but was told I has to pay on the spot as INJA operated separately from The Manor ! The whole place is poorly organised. The pen is my room did not work, the In-room dining menu was no longer functioning, and there was no indication on the phone which number to press to contact reception. I'm afraid I won't be staying there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our India trip. The hotel was spotless and our room was perfect for our needs. They were having a new restaurant built so unfortunately we didn’t eat dinner here, however breakfast & lunch were both really good. It’s in a quiet gated residential area of New Delhi, you could obviously still hear horns honking ( don’t think you can escape that in Delhi) however not enough to bother us at all. When we return to Delhi we will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The manor . The room was well equipped, lovely ambiance and very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast in the tranquil garden , away from the hustle and bustle of noisy gorgeous Delhi. Hitesh took care of us at breakfast, lovely guy and our security/ door man ( did not get his name) was extremely helpful , he walked us all the way to the metro station so we knew how to get there. Also when departing Delhi he helped us with our ordered driver / car . Don’t get put off by the location , after all you want to experience Delhi and the sights are spread out anyway .
