An oasis of calm and comfort sums up the understated luxury of Lutyen’s masterpiece- The Imperial New Delhi, bestowed with the prestigious title of the Best Heritage Hotel by Travel + leisure India’s Best Awards 2017 and the only hotel amongst 7 hotels in India to be listed in Conde Nast Gold List for 2018. An iconic hotel and the most distinguished address situated in the heart of the capital, it is reminiscent of the halcyon days of the Raj. A luxury hotel with an awe-inspiring heritage interwoven in colonial elegance, it dwells in its modern delivery of old-style class and magnificence. The royal palms that lead up to the porch are an integral part of and witness to the very creation of Delhi.

If you want to experience the Raj, this is the place. It isolates you splendidly, in a luxurious bubble, an oasis from the teeming streets. The rooms are huge, with marble tiles, a sitting area, a separate dressing room, large bathroom. There are special floors for women traveling/rooming alone. There is a camera in the room, so you can see who is at the door. Slippers, robes, good quality toiletries. The plugs are a bit funky, but it seems as if any kind of adapter is accepted. The breakfast spread is magnificent. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and since I was there during wedding season, I got to see upper class Indians in all their regal splendor. There are four restaurants. Spice, Daniels, Italian and another I can't remember the name. Spicy means very hot food, so I skipped that one. Daniel's is great Indian food. There is also a lovely area for snacks and fresh juices, a bakery and a gift shop, as well as walls covered with world class art. Absolutely no complaints!

I checked into New Delhi right when the C-19 was raising its ugly head, but the Imperial was poised and ready to protect. They took every safety precaution and I loved my stay. My first time traveling alone and I had the time of my life, enjoyed specialty cocktails in the bar and delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. Close to shopping and location to sights. This is old world charms at its finest. Would love to stay here again.

Spent last two nights in India at this lovely hotel. Could not have been a better end. Sparkling clean, fascinating history, great food, fab pool and poolside service, gardens. Truly lovely . We walked from the hotel to get a bit of a feel and finally got Tuk tuk down to India gate which is very moving and then to Lodhi gardens well worth a visit. All in all loved imperial and have recommended to all our friends.

Staying at the Imperial Hotel was out of our budget for our visit to Delhi, but my wife and i did enjoy a most delightful high tea there. We were made to feel most welcome despite obviously being tourists, and they were very accommodating with regard to my wife's gluten intolerance.

When you enter The Imperial you step back a hundred years to enjoy the very best of Raj india. My wife and I stayed just one night and were given a large room with antique parquet flooring and oriental rugs. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in and, believe me, we have tried many in hotels around the world. Whilst the room was gracefully dated the bathroom was right up to date with every amenity you could desire. We made use of the gym and would love to have tried the spa but the day has just so many hours. Breakfast in the conservatory was slow, perhaps intentionally so, the buffet was comprehensive. What a shame we were there for just one night.
