The cabins belonging to the lodge is a real "middle of the rainforest"-experience within walking distance from the charming village of Guadeloupe. With Quetzals, Hummingbirds and many other birds and also mammals just outside the cabin it is a extraordinary experience of wildlife in a tropical forest - so difficult to find at most places. It was so quiet and...

This lodge is world-class: we had a wonderful big room with two porches, a hot tub, and a roaring fireplace, not to mention a great view of the mountains (definitely worth it to get a Suite); the restaurant had excellent food around the clock (salad bar and homemade dressings to die for); the spa features relaxing massages and saunas; the...

Los Quetzales Hotel is located in the highlands of Panama. It is a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. The rooms are confortable and staff is friendly. We walked through the forest and was a great expericence, the guides where knowledgable about the area and it's flora and fauna. The spa is also great.

Everyone at Los Quetzales Lodge contributed to a lovely stay, which included a guided walk through primary rainforest and plenty of sightings of the quetzals. In addition, their cabins in the jungle are truly spectacular! The surroundings are beautiful: the tiny town of Guadalupe is tucked between two parks, one of which is an International Park (La Amistad, straddling the...

OK. So Los Quetzales isn't exactly a birding-centric eco-lodge but there is PLENTY of birding available and plenty of support for birders. There are all manner of well stocked bird and hummer feeders around the place and plenty of interesting birds near the lodge. And if we're talking about near the cabins...well you are in the jungle. The bird guides...

The reception staff at this lodge are extremely nice and the food in the restaurant is very good. The challenge is that it is overpriced and rather tired. We had a nice large room which was clean but, for the price, it really needed a face lift. We are birders and we picked this lodge because it promotes itself as...

We visited here as part of a birding trip in Panama. We arrived early (9.30) due to the flight from pnama City, but our room was empty but wasn't ready so it was suggested we had a drink in the restaurant. We did this and had a wander around the grounds and visited the town of guadalopue returning at about...

My husband and I, along with our two children (ages 14 and 11) stayed at Los Quetzales for two nights at the end of March. We stayed in a junior suite, which was roomy and comfortable. Although the room was generally clean, it was not totally up to standard. Unlike some reviewers who had poor experiences at the restaurant, we...

If/when you check their web pages, you do get the impression that the lodge is in the middle of the cloud forest. Therefore it is quite a surprise to realize that in real life it is located in the middle of the village. I had booked a larger normal room at the lodge and that turned out to be very...

This place has a few things going for it - nice walks in the forest and the rooms like really nice - but it is massively overpriced. For $95 some of you might expect basic things like the room being made up (did not happen once in 4 nights), an edible breakfast, and a restaurant which does not serve up...
