My friends and I spent almost one month on Red Frog Beach, enjoying everything Palmar has to offer. The food is incredible, considering everything, including you, is brought in by water transport. The owners Aaron and MK made myself and my friends feel most welcome and we became good friends with the manager Juan and some of the bar staff.... More

Palmar is a great little oasis and has honestly been a highlight for our Central America trip!! Located on one of the best beaches in Bocas we were able to wake up with the sound of the ocean and started every morning with a yoga class taught by MK or Veronica. In the lodge you were surrounded by amazing and... More

We stayed here for 3 weeks and loved it! The bar and yoga studio are right on the beautiful and quiet Red Frog beach. There is so much wild life and the staff are also very friendly. Definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at Palmar Tent Lodge and were completely underwhelmed by the experience. We ate at the restaurant three times, 1 dinner, 1 lunch and 1 breakfast. All three meals were very disappointing and very overpriced. For dinner I ordered 'fresh' snapper which was actually a piece of oily deep-fried fish and my boyfriend ordered... More

Hi Caitlin, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I can understand your frustration. It's disappointing to hear that you had such a bad experience with the food. Normally this is one of our strongest points. Just to clarify about the whole snapper-- it was fresh, but the menu special was 'whole fried snapper.' Some people... More

Palmar is a great place to escape the fiesta of bocas gown. Only a $7 boat from town and a 10-15 minute ride. I meant to stay for 2-3 days and spent a week! The staff is friendly, helpful, and can answer a y questions you may have about what to do. The beach is one.of.the best around and there... More

We stayed at Palmar Tent Lodge with our boys 11 and 8 years old and stayed at the Jungle Lodge, ideal for a family! The nice thing about it, is that this place is not this typical 'suited for children' place. And that is what it made it so attractive for us! If you have children who can entertain themselves,... Palmar Tent Lodge was the highlight of my trip through Central America. Both the local and foreign staff are professional, welcoming and engaging. Palmar is more than helpful in planning island excursions, while the tent lodge itself is enough to keep travelers entertained through the day. Whether lounging on the beach, slacklining, playing volleyball, practicing yoga, hiking to a nearby... More

I would describe staying at Palmar as luxurious camping. It's a very unique experience staying here, from the boat dock you walk a trail for about 10 minutes and are instantly connected with nature. You experience living off of rainwater to shower, and solar power to charge your electronics, while still having a really comfy place to sleep and excellent... More

Our family including two adults and an 8 and 10 year old has fun staying in the Jungalow. Although it rained for the majority of our two night stay, because it is still warm, we were able to have a great time in the ocean's big waves. Accommodations: Jungalow is great - big comfortable king bed on top floor and... More

The location and set up was really nice, with hammocks and beach chairs, but as a whole we were dissapointed. We were excited to be staying in a tent (as it is a tent lodge..), but when we arrived we found that the dorm beds were in a hut, not a tent. We'd seen photos on the website with bunkbeds... More

Hi Ida, I'm sorry about the confusion with the tents. I think in the description on our website it states pretty clearly that the Safari Dorm is not a tent. Maybe that misunderstanding led to some frustration that stayed with you throughout your stay? We do our best to grant every request, so it seems strange that our staff would... More
