I met a friend at Bocas del toro and chose the coconut Hostel for the first days. We spent 3 nights there while it was raining. The people were really friendly when we entered but this changed immediately when we had payd the rooms... The Rooms were really dark and not very clean. One evening a mouse climbed out of... More

This hostel is simple but good. Yes the showers are cold, but then again there is not such a thing as cold water in Bocas del Toro. The bed was clean and comfortable, the airco worked in both the rooms I stayed in and I ended up staying longer then planned. The owner is a nice guy and eager to... More

Bed bugs all over the place. Super old mattresses. When I told the staff they didn't even act surprised and put tons of chemicals on them. The hostel is really dirty and sticky. Showers are old and dirty, you can't even close the toilet doors properly. Way too few people to take care about the hostel. Don't speak English at... More

Sometimes the quality of hostels is not defined by the interior design or the mattresses or the quality of the kitchen but by the feeling it creates. For me every single person working and staying there became a good friend to party with or to just hang out. You cannot force this kind of atmosphere and this is why I... More

The owners and employees of the hostel will make you feel right at home. They talk to you, spend time with you, have a drink with you, cook...etc This hostel was one of many reasons I decided to stay and live for several years in Bocas. Their hospitality is incomparable.

What makes coconut an amazing hostel is not only its location (perfect for partying and surfing, cheap to get around), the cheap price or nice facilities but it´s people. The special atmosphere created by the family who runs the place makes it feel like home. I was there with four friends and I had such a cool time that I... More

Didn't feel really comfortable there because you can tell that its not a clean place; mold in the showers, dirt and mold in many hidden corners, old smelly couch in the common room. Only one female Toilette for whole hostel and so one... You can tell that owners are only about the money and do not put any effort in... More
