We reserved and arrived late in the day so even though the rooms were very suspect we felt we owed it to the owner to stick around for at least one night. Mistake! They really didn't care. After trying the restaurant we returned to our inside room. It was dark and hotter than hades! No A/C. Mattresses - not. Just...

Casa Max is a great little hotel. Rooms are airy spacious & very clean. Hot showers were appreciated & the shared balcony with hammock & a comfortable were just the right thing for an afternoon beer & a spot of people watching & a view of the Caribbean. They have free wifi &. Great little restaurant downstairs that serves the...

This was a nice stay. Fairly clean room and bath. Hot shower was good. We had a small balcony in the back and a ceiling fan. Small tears in the screens were worrisome b/c of mosquitoes. Cute room design. The location was pretty quiet. Nice enough for the price. Their restaurant , Rum Runners has great breakfast!

I'm not sure what the people below are talking about but this place was awesome! Take into consideration this review is coming from three 25 year old surfers who do not require the amenities of a 5 star hotel. That being said, Casa Max is a charming bargain to say the least. We stayed for a total of 2 weeks...

I wished we hadn`t stayed here! Especially when we saw other twin rooms being advertised in the town for around $25 a night! Our room was small, dank and very very dark. One small window opened out onto another house. The bathroom window didn`t have any mosquito netting and no glass. The giant cockroach that scuttled across the bathroom floor...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Casa Max this last January and it was just okay. At $38 a night I did not expect anything fantastic, but people left good reviews so I thought why not. Anyway, the place had a fan, hot water and a cute shared balcony where we spent a bit of time. The only thing that...

Shirley and Ari are great innkeepers, the rooms are clean and neat, wireless internet, great showers with plenty of water and a lovely restaurant. All in walking distance of town and beaches. Great...

I have stayed at Casa Max twice in the past couple of years, most recently in late January 2008. I would not hesitate to stay again. The rooms are clean and the hosts are friendly. My room this time had a window that opened to the outdoor/covered restaurant area. Some nights can be noisier than others with the nearby bar/restaurants,...

Stayed here the week before Christmas. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the owners very accommodating. Would not hesitate to stay here again at all. My only complaint would be the bathrooms are pretty small and a little tired but for $30 odd/night I wasn't expecting the 4 Seasons and know that I was in Central America after all....
