Somewhere in this review there should be a 'but' , I'm not sure where it will be exactly , it's really important though , so look out for it! This hostel is really beautiful and unique . The beds were comfortable , the showers good quality and the outdoor areas comfortable. We relaxed on the sofas and enjoyed staying in...

This place is a charming hideaway outside Dulan and if you have your own transport then still pretty convenient to get into town and back etc. Emily and Roman both lovely, extremely helpful with recommendations, very chatty but not intrusive. The house has just a couple..3ish? Guest rooms which open onto a shared area (with other guests and the family)....

This is a lovely little place in the mountains, very peaceful and run by a lovely hippy family. I loved it here and hope to return. It's far away from the local village so if you don't have transport you need to rely on taxis. I'd advise bringing some food with you. If you don't like dogs this isn't for...

We called in the morning to ask if there was any available rooms the same day. It was no problem, but the host advised us to check the map on their Facebook page. So we did, and Google maps helped us to the right spot with our rented car. It was a 15 minutes uphill drive from the main road....

My boyfriend and I booked a 2 night stay here and immediately asked for 3 nights after arriving at the guesthouse and witnessing the beautiful neighboring mountain forests and artistic decoration of the home. We had travelled to Dulan from Hualien by train to Taitung where we had PLANNED to hire a motorbike and drive ourselves to Dulan. However bike...

The place is beautifully hand-decorated, painted and deisgned. It's very bright and colorful with relaxed, open people. They have good kitchen facilities and a fire pit for cooking. The owners are so friendly, when it was time for us to leave, it was raining and they lent us their rain gear! Good conversations and a beautiful, quiet natural setting. Thank...

Set up in the mountains, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy the wildlife and 'camp' with a few extra luxuries and it is still only a short drive (5 min) back to Dulan town. If you are afraid of spiders - hesitate - but still don't dismiss completely. Beds are extremely soft and comfortable - and rooms decorated with...

What a charming place. We stayed for one night on our way down from Torako Gorge to Kenting. The rustic and homely atmosphere of the hostel is unlike anything else we experienced in Taiwan. Staying at Taitung Sea Art Hostel is an unavoidably communal experience, with all of the opportunities and limitations that that entails. This is not a place...

“Call to book in advance and get a text with directions up the hill. Try to drive up in the day, but even I did it at night and we found our way with all the signs.”

“Looks like they will only have one long room with two big beds and two single rooms. As two families of four, we practically booked out the place - but again, this made it even more special. If you are looking for privacy - this is not the place.”
