This was the best hotel we stayed in during out tour of Sri Lanka. Tangalle is a wonderful place to chill out following sight seeing across Sri Lanka. We booked the Golden Pearl for two nights and booked a further 3 nights, the location is great with small restaurants near the hotel. The hotel has direct access to the beach, soft sand, big waves, also a nice pool to dip into. The rooms were very spacious, clean, modern, good shower and air conditioning. The staff at the hotel made us feel very welcome and particularly Maduranga, he always made sure we had everything we needed by the pool etc, his English was very good as we have very poor Sri Lankan! The general manger was very helpful, we booked a Safari with him and it was fantastic, to Udawalawe national Park, the driver was excellent and guided us during the Safari, we really appreciated his knowledge of the park and would have missed so much without him and the good jeep driver. The general manager advised us to book a local tuk tuk to do the local sights, we went to the rock temple, big Buddha temple, blow water hole. We didnāt do the Whale watching trip, a good reason to return to Tangalle. The breakfast was very good, lots of choices and good quality food to suit everyone. We had a Sri Lankan curry in the restaurant and it was delicious. We chatted to the very friendly executive Chef and he asked for feed back on the food, we mentioned we had not had a Sri Lankan breakfast, the next morning Sri Lankan breakfast was on the menu with hoppers. We have visited Sri Lanka 3 times since 2014 I would strongly recommend Tangalle on anyones itinerary for Sri Lanka. Thank you to all the staff for a perfect stay at the Golden Pearl Joy and Richard UK

We vacationed as a family of 4 people. Spacious rooms and balconies, air conditioning, hot water, room cleaning, coffee/tea in the room. Good location - you can go eat at any cafe nearby, the choice is huge. There are a couple of good coffee shops with normal coffee, although they also make it in the hotel)) And the food is delicious!! We went to dinner, ordered carbonara with bacon and a couple of pork steaks - after a week and a half of dieting on seafood, we really wanted meat, and we didnāt regret it! Everything was incredibly tasty.) Denish, worked in Italy, gave a guide on the pastas they prepare) In general, the food is delicious, they can cook freshly caught crabs/shrimp, they even have mashed potatoes!! Among the cafes nearby, this is the only place that serves meat and mashed potatoes)) There is a swimming pool, the hotel is right by the ocean, there is a āpaddling poolā nearby - for those who are afraid to swim in the waves) The hotel helps organize an excursion, even provides breakfast for early excursions or early flights)) In the evening they turn on cute lanterns and candles on the tables. The bar is open, even on a full moon (a holiday every month in Sri Lanka - you canāt drink for a couple of days) I read in the reviews about stray dogs - you havenāt been to Georgia! There are three dogs, they donāt really beg, they just hang out on the hotel grounds (they sleep in the shade, run back and forth, and donāt interfere much). Keep in mind that in Sri Lanka all living things are sacred =D The hotel itself also has a gym, spa, yoga, table football/pool, badminton - you wonāt get bored) The hotel is beautiful, you can even host a wedding! By the way, there wasnāt a single wedding during our stay. And we read a lot of comments - we thought maybe weāll see at least one!! Broke off) There is a children's playground. And in the sand there is not glass, but shells)) actually. I checked it myself To sum up, we havenāt seen a better hotel in the city, the rest of the hotels look mossy and there is a feeling that we were, in fact, very lucky in our choice.) Have a nice holiday!

we rest in this hotel every year, this is the best hotel where everyone smiles at you, cook delicious food and help in all matters. luxurious rooms overlooking the ocean, the ocean is wonderful, beautiful and fabulous, the sound of the ocean gives peace and releases all thoughts. the most important thing is that the hotel is always clean, always clean towels, bedding, bathroom accessories, the hotel smells very tasty. my daughter loves to feed the fish, she was given bread for this. wonderful turtles also swim, so children are not bored. I want to thank the hotel staff: the wonderful manager Mr. Upul, he always comes up, is interested in well-being and relaxation, is always very friendly and a really wonderful manager. many thanks to Chef Mendis, we have never eaten such wonderful and delicious food, his cuisine is love. Everything is very tasty and the presentation is very beautiful. the food is so delicious that I didnāt even have time to take pictures, I immediately wanted to eat, salivatingš the rest of the staff is very attentive, responds quickly to all requests, they immediately try to help. Thank you so much for this amazing hotel! We love you and will always come back to you!

We have 2 days left, Iām writing a review hot on the heels, you might say) It's an hour and a half hour's drive from the airport, we checked in earlier than expected, the room is spacious with a view of the ocean, very beautiful! The ocean is muddy with waves, the beach is clean, there are always sunbeds, because almost everyone goes to other beaches to swim (I recommend Dikaella beach), sunbeds, umbrellas are free, if you order something (drink, eat from them), the prices are not expensive, lunch on the shore ocean, with a stunning view costs about 2 thousand rubles (we ordered everything we wanted, the portions were huge, we ate too much) The biggest disappointment is the breakfasts, we havenāt seen anything like this anywhere... we paid 14 thousand for them in 7 days, at first they brought us fruit, 2 transparent pieces of pineapple, papaya and watermelon, then like fresh watermelon and a choice of scrambled eggs from 2 eggs and one red sausage, terrible, my husband once asked for 2 sausages, but they still brought him 1, I always gave mine to him, or an omelette, also with 1 red sausage... 4 slices of bread, 3 tiny cubes of butter and a spoonful of jam for two and thatās it... no vegetables, no pancakes, no sweets for tea (tea and coffee in bags) we all waited for about 15 minutes, once they completely mixed it up and brought scrambled eggs instead of an omelet, we say we ordered an omelet, to which the waiter simply smiled and left (maybe I didnāt understand, maybe I didnāt want to decide anything) the morning always started with disappointment... We had dinner at the hotel once, the menu was delicious and the price was normal, we always had lunch on different beaches The pool is clean and warm, open until 19:00 The hotel left me with mixed feelings, I wouldnāt go here again, everything pleasant was canceled out by these breakfasts and left an unpleasant aftertaste

We vacationed in Golden Pearl for 11 days with friends, there were 6 of us. We booked a luxury room and were shocked when we checked in. We were given rooms on the second floor with a view of some building; the room was terribly dark and smelled of dampness. For a long time they argued at the reception that these were standard rooms, the luxury rooms (on the hotel website) should have a terrace with sun loungers. It turned out that there was only one such number available. As a result, one couple got a room with a terrace, as we booked, two couples were given rooms with ocean views, for which a special thank you to the hotel staff. I recommend paying more and immediately taking a room with an ocean view, it is much brighter and the view is nice. The main disadvantage of the hotel is the food. We had to wait a very, very long time for the waiters. No variety, only boiled/fried eggs/omelet. The buffet (if you can even call it that) had bread, butter, jam, and cucumbers/tomatoes, not tasty sausages, disgusting coffee, papaya juice and tea. Eggs and fruit are brought to order, the wait is long. Every day there was less and less fruit š We are not particularly picky about food, but by the end of the vacation we could no longer look at the eggs)) It's the same story with dinner. We waited a very long time for the food to come out. For several days they served fish, two friends do not eat seafood at all and we asked to replace the fish with chicken. They tried to issue us an invoice, the reception resolved this issue, and we didnāt pay anything in the end. The pool is clean and looked after every day. The waves in the ocean are strong, so I donāt recommend it for children. By the way, I am a good swimmer, but sometimes even I was a little scared. Tangalle was not impressed overall, it was boring, there were no bars, everything was closed in the evenings. In local cafes the food is monotonous, the prices are not cheap (I have attached a photo of one of the cafes for understanding, the prices are the same everywhere) We went on an excursion to the center of the island for two days, took an individual excursion, really liked it š but this is not the merit of the hotel)) The hotel staff are friendly, like all Sri Lankans, but few even speak English. In general, I do not recommend this hotel, especially with children, I advise you to choose more tourist destinations. Our vacation was saved only by the fact that we were a group and we would have had fun even on a desert island š We traveled a lot to different beaches, you can see turtles on Dikwella, we were in Galle, on a two-day excursion, in a rehabilitation center for turtles and went on a night beach where turtles lay eggs)

The hotel is like in the picture, small with a lawn and a pool in front of the ocean. Terrible breakfast, there is no normal buffet like in other hotels. Choice of watermelon or papaya juice, tea, coffee, thinly sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, mayonnaise, cereal. They can supply cut up cake, bread and butter, thatās all. Then you will be given a choice of a boiled egg, a fried egg, or another version of the egg. After a week, you can crow. Breakfast is the same. The hotel is located in a dirty village, the cafes have tried almost everything around, the choice is meager. When you ask them to show you what fish and seafood they have, many refuse, itās rarely fresh, the selection is the same, prices are higher than in cities where there are a lot of Russians. The ocean here is always full of waves, swim in the pool with chlorine. There is nowhere to go, this is not in the city, but a village where there is stench and dirt at every step. Choose another hotel and in another place if you want to go to Sri Lanka. Save your stomach, money and nerves. Yes, I recommend excursions, this is the only thing that brightened up our vacation. My friend and I (33 year old guys from the UK) came over to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks during the Christmas and New Year period 2021/22. We stayed at the Golden Pearl Beach Hotel for 2 nights just before Xmas. The hotel is in really great condition and the staff are really friendly, very attentive and always there to be helpful. Special thanks to our waiter Madaranga Upul who was charming, funny and always there with a cold Lion Beer in hand for us! We had rooms on the 2nd floor with stunning balcony views of the ocean, the rooms were really comfortable, good air con, and nice shower facilities. Outside the pool area is very pleasant, and we spent many a relaxing hour sipping pina coladas on the beach area underneath the mango and palm trees, whilst watching (and helping) the local fishermen pull in their net for the catch of the day! Food in the hotel was excellent as well, served up by the Executive Chef who made extremely tasty authentic Sri Lankan curries with fresh fish caught that morning!
The beach itself is picture-postcard stuff, very relaxing, quiet and a perfect place to unwind for a few days. The waves can get quite big there with a strong current so you do need to be aware of that if going for a dip.
The locals were so happy to see some tourists again after a tough few years due to Covid. There were a few places closed down and the evening places to eat near the beach were a bit limited but the food was still excellent all the same.
All in all a really amazing stay at Golden Pearl, would highly recommend - thank you to all the staff for an amazing stay!

The hotel was some kind of scam, on Booking it seemed like an incredibly luxurious hotel, but upon arrival nothing could be further from the truth. Our first dinner was substandard, everything came in stages and while I had already finished my food, my friend's food was served. We sat close to some sort of bug trap that exploded little bugs that probably just ended up on our table. It always gave a huge bang. The windows were all very dirty, our child's chair was dirty and the waiter did not appear professional. He was very nice. When booking I indicated that we wanted an extra bed. When I asked for this again, we only got a pillow. 10 minutes later 2 unfriendly boys came to bring a bed. In the end we only slept there and didn't eat anything else. The room was also not cleaned in between while this should have been done. The only plus was the friendly lady behind the reception and the nice security guard. The rest were grumpy and not service oriented at all. Never again this hotel soā¦

I and my husband stayed at Golden Pearl Tangalle for 3 nights and from here we explored the town and the region around. The location is perfect - directly on the beach and 5 minutes by walking from Tangalle Center. It is very quiet place, you can here the ocean 24/7 š The people working here are very friendly and helpful and our breakfast was delicious. We can recommend staying here if you search for anhotel in Tangalle.

Excellent hotel, located right on the shore, and within walking distance from the city center. The hotel staff is very friendly, no request is left unattended. The room is clean, cleaning every 2 days or on request. The room has a safe, refrigerator, TV (without Russian channels), hairdryer, toiletries, Wi-Fi in the room and throughout the hotel is excellent. Very pleasant impressions of the hotel, everything is homely and cozy. I want to come back here.
