Fantastic place, cosy cabins, excellent service and smiling personnel making us feel welcome from the arrival and during the complete stay. It is a very small lodge but pool and dinning (vegetables from own garden) was perfect. placed near Lion Rock, allowing us to visit this in the early morning and having breakfast after. This place will always pop up when in my mind when thinking on our Sri Lanka tour.

Eco from growing their own vegetables and fruit to the no plastic bottle policy. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Free bike rental, ideal distance to cycle to the lake where you get a peek at the lion rock.

I really can't recommend this place enough. We stayed in many hotels during our 21 days stay on Sri Lanka and this one occured to be such a nice suprise and to be so beyond our expectations. Firstly, the staff- is so great, friendly, helpful. They are all lovely, we felt like at home :) As we are vegetarian they prepared us vegetarian curry twice(we requested for it earlier before dinner) and for a great price (discount from non-veg dishes, about 1000 lkr for dinner with dessert/per pesron- amazing food for great price) and when talking about food.... it was so delicious. This was the first hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka and that time we didn't know that it would be one of the best curries we would have on Sri Lanka:) Breakfasts are also amazing- sri lankan omlettes, hoppers, dhal, pani pol pancakes, fruits, juices- so rich and so yummy. Swimming pool- very relaxing and calm area. No music at all, only the sounds of nature. You can observe lot of squirels. Little paradise to relax. Rooms- clean, nicely decorated, the bathroom is also clean. AC works very good. We had standard room and it has really nice and big terrace ( in my opinion looking better that deluxe bungalows terraces). Location- location it is not central and not sloce to Sigiriya city center", but the village surrounding is really nice, you can take bikes for free (maybe they are not in the great condition but it is a nice experience to use them and discover the village) and go to Pidurangala (it's quite close, about 15 minutes ride), There is no problem with arranging tuk tuk to Sigiriya which costs 1500 (both ways)- hotel arranges you whatever you only want. They organized us a really nice Kurulu safari in attractive price. Additionaly about the location- if that great food the location is not a problem in the evening because I can't find no reason to go and dine out. Do it at Kuwera and you won't regret. To sum up- the hotel is little, hidden paradise with great surrounding, lovely people working there and delicious food. If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will surely visit Kuwera Eco Lodge again.

After finding the lodge quite at the end of a very dusty and bumpy road a small paradise opened its doors, when we got there. With only a handful of well equipped bungalows around a pool and an open food court/bar situated in a combined garden/mini-forest we enjoyed perfect service, perfect food and a place to relax in a most comfortable way. The ecological concept is - in our eyes -implemented in a very good way. E.g. usage of plastic is reduced to a minimum (in the rest of Sri Lanka unfortunately not) and lots of the fruit and vegetables come from the attached small organic farm. On request you can be guided around the farm, which we found very interesting. Place to stay for some days to either only relax or visit the sightseeing spots nearby (own car is of advantage, didn't try other transportation).

We so enjoyed our stay at Kuwera Eco Lodge. We booked at the last minute as we were not happy where we were staying before. We couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s in a secluded location, which means you can relax. The pool and the area around it is lovely. The bungalows are simple but very comfortable. We visited Sigirya early morning on the one day we had there (we stayed two nights) and got back for a delicious breakfast at about 10am and the relaxed for the rest of the day. It’s about 20 minutes in a tuk tuk and Prasad, the manger of the hotel, took us and picked us up after 2 1/2 hours. The staff at the hotel are fantastic. Such nice people. Also the food is stunning. We had dinner there both nights & thoroughly enjoyed everything. It’s a set menu with a lot of the ingredients from their organic garden. The dinner costs a bit more than you might pay in a restaurant, but still cheap by western standards and worth every penny. We liked the ethos of the hotel of no plastic. There’s a water fountain where you can get drinking water. All in all a really memorable stay at a wonderful, small hotel.
