Perfect location, really close to Sigiriya, a bit secluded from the main street - lovely ambience, very nice staff, lush greenery and made in style. There are only three rooms, spacious and very clean, with nice and clean bathrooms.
Staying with Saman at his beautiful guesthouse was a highlight of our trip to Sigiriya. He was so hospitable and always went out of his way and beyond to help and provide for us. The lunches and dinners he provided were delicious and fairly priced, and his jeep tour (which he gave for free!) was so much fun and such a treat! He was always so happy to give us lifts to places and even drove us to Nilaveli after our stay. We were sad to leave! We can’t thank him or recommend staying here enough.
Myself and 5 of my friends visited for the weekend. The rooms were nice and clean. Hot water, air con, fans, wifi, no insects and clean! The food was nice for a little extra. Traditional and very very tasty. The service could not be better. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate everyones needs. Vegetarian options were provided upon request. Jeep tour around Sigiryia was given for free! And let me tell you, IT WAS AMAZING! Recomend to everyone! If we ever come back to the area it will be our place to stay again for sure!
We arrived at 1:30AM And had trouble finding the guest house, upon calling the owner the family ran out into the road (in the middle of the night) with flashlights to help us find the way. They met us with cold water, and the rooms were just what we needed; a comfy bed, clean accommodation, and air conditioning. When we woke up at 4:30AM to catch the sunrise on the rock, they provided transPortation for us to and from in their jeep (even after being up so late waiting for us). When we returned from our hike, there was a beautiful breakfast waiting for us of fruit, toast and jam, and egg. Along with tea in a lovey ornate tea set. This Place was so tranquil and so beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer. The family is so sweet. Highly recommend to anyone!!!
While just off the main road to Lion Rock, you might as well be living in the jungle, where peacocks replace the roosters in the dawn chorus! When we arrived, we were told that the internet was down due to the monkeys having interfered with the incoming wire. There are only three guest rooms, so everyone receives personal service. Saman also offers all the popular tours in the area, so don't book with anyone else until you've checked out what he has to offer. Breakfast is included and other meals can be requested. Same day laundry service is available for a nominal charge. The rooms are simple but adequate, having good lighting and both AC and a fan. The beds are large and firm and come with a mosquito net. My only caution is that you should bring shower shoes.because although Saman has pans to completely upgrade the bathrooms, they are presently only painted concrete which while functional, is not what most westerners are used to.…
