Kumbukgaha Villa is stylish private hideaway in a peaceful rural setting surrounded by wilderness and paddy fields where wild peacocks and elephants roam freely. Within this secluded setting are just seven comfortable villas, complete with king size beds, crisp cotton linen, air-conditioning, hot water, a forest pool and an open dining pavilion. At Kumbukgaha Villa, you will be served by a small team of friendly, professional staff who will take care of your every need, be it planning your meals or helping with local excursions. Our kitchen will literally cook only for you - always with fresh locally sourced supplies often supplemented by organic vegetables from our home garden. The Minneriya National Park, famous for the 'gathering' of hundreds of elephants, is a short 30 min drive away and is perfect for an afternoon safari. You could also spend some quiet time exploring the embankments of ancient agricultural lakes, stroll along the paddy fields, chat to the friendly people of the village or just sit out in the veranda and enjoy a cup of Pure Ceylon Tea. What ever your choose to do, we guarantee total peace, tranquility and relaxation at Kumbukgaha Villa. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Idyllic place in the middle of nature, very well maintained. Beautiful rooms with outdoor shower. Small pool but certainly sufficient. Incredibly friendly staff. Good WiFi. Very quiet location. Daily dinner to choose from 3 different options.

Second stop on our tour of Sri Lanka for 3 nights. After a few minutes drive down a rural bumpy track Kumbukgaha Villas come into view in style. A warm welcome and a fantastic peaceful retreat in a central location to discover much of what Sigiria has to offer. Our bags were whisked away to our room while we were greeted by very friendly staff and offered a cool drink whilst taking in the peaceful surroundings. The menu consisted of both local and western foods and both were excellent. Room was huge and had a veranda with a great outlook, enjoyed watching the fireflies in the evening, which was a first for us and amazing when you first spot one. Enjoyed the power cuts as lanterns were lit making it very romantic before the generator was started. Staff very attentive and always available despite our early morning starts. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had originally booked 2 nights but left our previous accommodation early and were very pleased to be able to extend our stay to 3 nights. We were in Sri Lanka for a 2 week tour and our whole group of 8 thought Kumbukgaha Villa was the best place we stayed. The staff were super, so welcoming and friendly. We were staying over the New Year (in April) and arrived one morning to breakfast with an amazing buffet, candles and special blessings. The rooms are very special, beautiful decorations and a fabulous outdoor bathroom- showering with sweet smelling flowers and the sound of peacocks all around you is something we will all remember. The grounds are peaceful and the pool area is very clean with lots of fresh towels. We had a lovely menu to choose from and were very impressed with the quality and choice. We must mention the very cute puppy Shadow who all our kids loved! Kumbukgaha Villa is a very special place to stay, its beautiful, tranquil grounds will leave you feeling very relaxed and totally in love with Sri Lanka. Thank you Patti and all your team, we will definitely return. x

What an amazing place! The setting is so beautiful and secluded and the villas with balconies overlooking the lake are wonderful and perfect for birdwatching. We saw a white throated kingfisher and a chestnut headed bee eater witching 5 minutes of arriving! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food although a bit limited was very good. The pool area is peaceful and in the morning you can see monkeys drinking from the water! We loved the whole experience and would love to go back!

This small boutique hotel is located in. it's own amazing grounds . The food is grown/caught/cooked on the property and you can even watch the staff check the lines for the fish you will be eating at dinner time. The staff are welcoming, attentive, polite and an absolute pleasure to be around and the food is high quality. Was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to visit this location

The ambience of the hotel and hospitality of the staff was excellent. It was a tranquil experience where one can connect with nature and get away for the weekend. Definitely recommend this experience to nature lovers. It is also only a few KMs away from the famous Sigirya rock.

What a beautiful escape from the city!! super relaxing and amazing stay we had. The room itself so clean and spacious. We love the outdoor bathroom- shower was amazing! A little bit difficult to reach there but rather than that their 2 ducks, 2 dogs and lovely friendly staff made everything sooo beautiful. I definitely want to go back to stay longer! Ohh dont get surprise if you wake up and there is a monkey looking at you :))

An amazing place tucked away in a serene environment closer to Sigiriya. It's peaceful and rural setting is ideal for a stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They have about 12 comfortable villas, equipped with all essential facilities. Staff is friendly, helpful and provides an excellent service. Special thanks to Sampath, who ensured our stay was perfect in every possible way. Their meals are prepared off an a la carte menu. Its said that most of the ingredients are locally sourced at their own home garden, that are often organic. They don't have pre-planned meal times and we were given the flexibility to dine whenever and however we preferred. It was certainly a memorable stay and we enjoyed every bit of it. They truly deserves great compliments and we would surely revisit in the near future.

A serene place to spend your long weekends. The hotel is specious and surrounded by small water ponds and it's greenery all around. The beautiful art pieces all around the place has an antique touch and it feels like a home away from home. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is great! Very kid friendly and you have many activities around the place as well. we went on a hike to ritigala and that is also a place rich in history and nature. Highly recommended hotel for family and friends outings.
