Great stay... Friendly staff and owner. Comfy rooms and really comfortable mattresses. Provides post card view of the Sigiriya Rock from the top floor. We checked in the midnight and the owner was there to welcome us at that time of the night. Overall great stay and keep up the spirit.

Went here as a family of 4-2 adults 2 children- on a holiday after seeing the 4 star reviews but it’s fair to say the rooms are not 4 star. Its missing the simple things like a shower door and a cup for your toothbrush and the place feels like it needs some TLC. On the other hand the breakfast is very good and and the eggs are amazing. The structure and set up of the place makes gives it grander feel that it actually delivers but it’s the lack of attention to detail that lets it down. Despite not having been advertised you can only pay in cash which is rather restrictive. We booked a hotel room with balcony and rock view but got neither and when we queried this were told you could view the rock from the rooftop patio above (however they did offer rooms with patio and rock view we just didn’t get given one!).

We enjoyed our stay here, the owner is lovely! He greeted us and went through our options of what we could do for the day. He also showed us a map of lions rock etc and explained everything! All the staff were happy to answer questions and very friendly. The room was super clean with everything you need. If you walk up to the rooftop there is also a fantastic view of lions rock. The breakfast is complementary and delicious - definitely recommend this place!

The room was very large and clean. I paid USD67 for 2 rooms which I believe its very worth it. The view from top floor is mesmerising facing the sigiriya rock. The enviroment is quite and cozy. Breakfast was okay. The cons, most of the staff are under aged/ teenager whom not fluent in English.

We recently completed a cooking class at Lakmini Lodge on 30th December with the amazing chef Niroshan Nandana. He was able to show us how to make some amazing dishes including a chickpea starter, coconut Sambol, and 3 different curries - dhal, pumpkin and beetroot. This really was a good opportunity to see the amazing Sri Lankan food prepared up close and personal. Niroshan was really informative and friendly so was a pleasure to be able to cook (well we tried too) in his kitchen. Obviously the food was amazing so I would highly recommend doing this class if you can.
