Service was great, check in was quick but not rushed. The rooms are fantastic. The breakfast was good but evening dinner needs some improvement. Both times we eat, the food was not hot and we were the only guests there. There is a cheeky little bar which is a great spot to relax

We broke our journey to the east with two nights here, staying in one of the resorts individually designed villas. Accessed by trails though the forest, each villa offers complete privacy to enjoy the surrounding flora and fauna. We found the service to be impeccable and the food of excellent quality. We particularly enjoyed the early morning birdwatching tour, witnessing... More

The individual bungalows are delightful, especially the upstairs bedrooms. The outdoor restaurant has a lovely view of the mountains. The service is very good with very personable staff and manager. The location is great; very convenient to Sigiriya. Great for a couple or a family. It would be nice to have walking paths to the nearby lake.

We were looking for the perfect weekend getaway, and stumbled upon Wild Grass Nature Resort quite by chance. We fell in love with the place the minute we drove in. The private, secluded Villas nestled within acres of untouched vegetation truly makes you feel one with nature. The staff, led by Nimal, was amazingly hospitable and professional, and the food... This was the first stop in a 7 night trip to Sri Lanka, chosen specifically due to it’s remote location, small size and proximity to Lion's Rock, allowing us to ease in to our 3 week holiday. And it couldn’t have been a better choice! The resort comprises of 8 villas spread out over the grounds, with a communal pool.... More

We have just left wild grass after spending two wonderful nights there with our 5 children aged 22 to 10. We loved waking to jungle skies and monkeys playing outside our beautiful glass walled bedrooms. The staff were so polite and smiling and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. We will never forget the amazing dinner we had... More

Stayed here for 4 nights with 2 children ( aged 6 and 10). We saw fantastic wildlife, the people there are so friendly and informative. The lodge is beautiful, peaceful and serene. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the heart of an enchanting forest, amongst the whispers of trees and magical birdsong, there exists a slice of paradise. Surrounded by jungles, a lake and the Kandalama hills, Wild Grass is a welcoming eco-retreat located in the Cultural Triangle between Sigiriya and Dambulla. Wild Grass is set amidst 30 acres of unfenced forestland that is frequently visited by rabbits, deer, wild boar, monkeys and over 40 species of birds as well as the occasional wild elephant. It is the ideal location for nature lovers, whether families with children, couples or honeymooners, who wish to enjoy their holiday disturbed only by the sounds of nature, while enjoying the ancient history and marvels of the cultural triangle. A strict nature conservation philosophy is followed here and much is being done to preserve the natural eco-system. Organic farming methods are used to cultivate fruit and vegetables for the resort's own use with the balance requirements purchased from the adjoining village. The unique feature of Wild Grass remains its exceptional natural beauty and absolute solitude afforded to the traveler seeking a perfect rest. Intimate and secluded, the resort limits itself to just 8 villas in the entire property, adequately spaced out to make privacy the ultimate luxury. ... more   less
