It was a relaxing stay for us at this hotel. Surrounded by lush greenery with plenty of bird - life . Well designed swimming pool. Bicycles available on rent to explore the plentiful trails outside. A few minutes drive to Sigiriya ancient rock- fortress. Comfortable and clean rooms. The food was very good, including special baby meals. The English breakfast was good. The staff at all levels were exceptionally friendly and efficient.
Unbelievably dedicated staff. Can't imagine such service during this post Covid season. Even for the occupied single room for the whole Hotel, they try to keep the entire hotel functions going to make the stay super comfortable
This is by no means a budget hotel but the post Covid 19 recession had forced most hotels including this to put out tempting deals. To make the most of it we arranged a stay at this place. Location is quite convenient to visit the popular sites such ss Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana, Minneriya etc. Rooms are arranged as separate Chalets with reasonable privacy, provided the hotel is not too crowded. The spaces in between Chalets are interspersed with landscaped trees giving a hint of isolation and privacy as well as a fair bit of greenary to please the eye. Being a birding enthusiast I was disappointed to see an almost complete lack of interesting avifauna. However there is a picturesque tank located about 1km away which I could get a some decent photos. Unfortunately the I did not see this promoted by the hotel. The pool is not quite large enough if the hotel is crowded but is good enough. A spa is awailable but could not pay a visit to comment. The food, this is where the budget comes into effect. Food was tasty but no big variety in the buffet and food was served in the buffet, probably to prevent excessive or wanton food consumption. However, special food requests for children were attended to with good concern. Sleep quality was good.…
Wonderful place to relax as we really enjoyed the calm surrounding and thank you GM and sous cheaf Gayan for your great hospitality and delicious meals. We hope to visit you again and hope this pandemic will end soon globally
On an organised trip around the island of SL you are never sure what your next hotel will be like - as we arrived into these palatial grounds of old and new dwellings a welcoming party was there to great us playing drums and clapping - wow - how nice. Check in was a breeze but I needed a room change, as an upstairs room was difficult for us to manage the stairs. Nice refreshing pool of decent size and easy access near the main lobby and eating areas. This is a jungle type experience with outdoor type eating and winding paths down to rooms spread through out the expanse of this property. They have blended old ruins and new buildings into a nice mix. The food was exceptional including a cooking class from Souse Chef Jayawardena - the amount and variety was terrific. Rooms were a nice blend of indoor / outdoor to give you the Safari feel especially the shower. The staff were outstanding and thanks to N G Bandula. S Kumara for his attention to detail.…
