Very nice hotel located on the shores of the lake (as the name would suggest) unfortunately it was the dry season and the lake had receded some distance but it was still a nice view. The rooms are quite good with a bathroom that you could quit easily mistake for a wardrobe at first. The pool was very nice and... More

We had a really good stay at this hotel, but there could be minor improvements to make it a 4 or a 5 star experience. The hotel is located on the lake at Polonnaruwa, in a beautiful setting. We got a tuk tuk from the train station to the hotel, and spent the day exploring the ruins on bikes (400... More

The picture of the Hotel on the website is false. The hotel is not on the lake as shown. When we pulled up to the Hotel that is shown on the website, we were informed that it is only a guest house and cannot accommodate guests. So we were told that we had to drive another 10 mins to the... More

Both the Lake Hotel and the Lakehouse Hotel are managed by the same group. The Lakehouse Hotel has better views of the ancient reservoir and is more luxurious. The staff at the Lake Hotel is fairly helpful but the understaffing means the requests for in-room dining take a long time. Perhaps due to understaffing, the waiters will not make you... More

The hotel Is situated on the edge of a lake. It is very dean and good value for money. It is rated as a 4 star and I would definitely agree with the rating. When you check in ask for a lake view room. They are the same price. If you don t you will get an inside room, which... More

We stayed one night at the hotel. It was not a good experience. The pictures are old and the hotel is worn out, not taken care of. We stayed in a 'Deluxe room', which was a smelly dirty shoebox. The staff have no idea what they are doing. The wifi is NOT working even in the lobby. Location is overrated.... More

We were looking to stop and have a drink ahead of exploring the ruins at what looked like a lovely place, however, the service was terrible. They told us the place was full even though we could clearly see tables outside. As we were very thirsty, they gave us a spot in their reception area. None of the drinks on... More
