Great guest house currently expanding largely due to their current popularity. Staff very helpful with excellent English. A 15 minute walk from bus station at the centre of town but the owner helpful with transport and local info.

Leesha guesthouse is filled with backpackers. The place is run efficiently. Staff are helpful. They rent bikes for the visit of the ruins, or can help you arrange a tuk tuk. Rooms are basic and clean. Don't expect a home-like feeling but it's a convenient and good value place.

We stayed here for two nights during August. The home is located around a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the main train station and this trip should cost you around 250lkr (although Upali offers to pick guests up free of charge). We stayed in a double room with air con. It was very clean and tidy with a mosquito net.... More

The owner and staff were extremely helpful with helping us to decide on what we should do during our stay in Polonnaruwa, including where to go next!! We did the ruins in the morning then a safari in the afternoon in Kaudulla national park. The following day we went to Sigiriya Rock. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. Great stay!!... More

We stayed here for one night and wished we had stayed longer. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the beds are big - the best accommodation we have had in Sri Lanka. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. They rent bikes for 300 rupees to explore the area, however make sure you pick a 'good'... More

A short stay in a modest, fresh, clean place owned by friendly and honest people. Great meal a good location. And with a small talk we could realized roots from our country, since the owner's father surname was Silva, heritage of the Portuguese occupation on the island :)

We were given a wonderful friendly welcome by all the staff who couldn't have been more helpful. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of helpful tips. The food was delicious traditional Sri Lankan curry. The best we had. A great budget place to stay but ask for air con rooms as they do not... More

The rooms are quite okay, good value for money! Clean and spacious with fan and/or aircon. The location is not too far away from the main attractions. The breakfast was quite decent and we had a really good rice and curry with fried fish in the evening. The best thing about the place is the owner. He is ready to... More

This modest place surprised us with how good it was. The 500 rupee evening meal was exceptional and the staff were friendly throughout. Bike hire was free on day one and a modest 300 rupee on day two - a great way to see the nearby ancient city. A great choice for families or couples on a budget.
