We stayed at this hotel, just to see the elephants bathing and visit closely situated elephant orphanage. It served the purpose well. Hotel is located immediately next to "Ma oya" river, which is the place where elephants from orphanage take their daily bath. So, you can fully view elephant bathing from your hotel room. If the elephants move to the...

This is a review of the restaurant in Hotel Elephant Park. We arrived in Pinnawala to see the elephants on a hot day and were looking for shade and feeling hungry. My wife and daughter took shelter from the sun at the entrance of Hotel Elephant Park while I looked around to see what was going on. We found out...

We had an amazing time at the Elephant Park Hotel. Janaka was so helpful while booking our room. We had a couple special requests and he made sure we got everything that we needed. All of the hotel workers were so lovely. Wasanthe really went above and beyond and made our time there so special. Our room had an incredible...

I was here for lunch during my visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Foods are suitable for Asian like me. The portion was big like for 2 people. We spend lkr 2,000 for our lunch and i feel full. This restaurant very busy, because it is closed to the river where the elephant take a bath. I got friendly waiter, he...

We were looking for a quick snack and came across the Hotel Elephant Park restaurant. We only had a bottle of water, french fries and fresh roasted cashew nuts. They were heavenly. The view from the restaurant looks over the elephant bathing area in the river and had superior views of the elephants.

We found the hotel to be very upto date, clean and well maintained. We went as a large family with people between the ages of 2 - 80. They took the trouble to put the older people in a lower floor and also adding additional beds in the rooms without us asking them. The views of the river and elephants...

I had every intention of having lunch here after visiting the nearby Elephant Orphanage. However, when given the menu, I realised they only served "Western oriented" food and no local cuisine. The waiter who has worked in Saudi Arabia and, as I realised, spoke decent Arabic and Urdu/ Hindi suggested I eat next door but have a beer here as...

We did not expect much from this hotel but were surprised that it basically had everything we needed - hot water, a working restaurant (everything else was closed in the evening), credit cards accepted and a superb location so that you can see the elephants go past your balcony and watch them bathe in the lake during breakfast. Minuses include...

Great place to view the magnificent beasts and a good cup of tea. The view from the left hand corner of the dining area at the back is great . not very crowded and unimpeded views of elephants taking a dip. Friendly staff makes the place very welcoming . Toilets were clean ! That's great news ... Cheers.
