Hotel under rated. Excellent service both front office, room and kitchen. Despite such a few rooms occupied kitchen supplied excellent dinner and breakfast on par. Very central location so no greenery. But noise minimal. My room towards rear 206 may account for lack of noise. I also found a tuk driver who has taken me around kandy to the known and not so well known attractions. It was a real treat and anyone who wants his contact number please contact me. I met him when I got off bus and am so glad I did.

The location of this hotel is good - you can walk to pretty much anything you need to locally. The problem is that it is quite run down and a bit basic. It was cheap as chips, but coming back here to post the review I had to check and check again as the pictures don't represent what I experienced at all. The walls are thin, it's a bit grubby, and the restaurant was closed for a holiday so saw nothing of it. Go, but go with your eyes open. We also got locked in so couldn't leave at 6am - worrying if there was a fire.

We stayed here for 2 nights but was tempted to check out after the first night. The walls are extremely thin that meant we got about 3 hours sleep a night as the people in the room next to us were up talking/laughing until around 5am both nights and it felt like they were in our room! On a week day you can hear the morning prayers from the local mosque, that started at about 5 and was continuous until about 7. As our room was at the front of the building we could hear everything very loudly, including the traffic. The breakfast was OK, good choice but the hot food was not really hot. All in all it was a good price for 2 nights and a great location but I would not return as the walls are far too thin! Picture is the view from the room

Great location, even if some of the rooms were a bit noisy due to the traffic outside (but I guess that is inevitable with that location) The rooms were clean, but a bit too small to stay three in one room. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was good. All in all great value for the money!

The location is terrific but the rooms look NOTHING like the pictures. It was built six years ago and nothing has been done to maintain the rooms so they have chipped walls, cracked amenities. The bathrooms are so small you have to go side ways past the vanity basin. The air conditioners are grubby. When they service the rooms in the mornings they throw everyone’s sheets and towels in the corridor so you walk past mounds of dirty linen. We had to queue to check in after arriving on the train and some travelers rooms weren’t ready at 3pm. They needed to be ready for the influx from the train but the person at the front desk didn’t seem to know what to do.
