We visited Anuradhapura on 03.10.2020 early morning and arrived at Kandy in the evening. We were very tired after a long journey and spoke to the receptionist after arriving at the Hotel. She was very helpful to us and offered us a full board package. The following day was my birthday and they were so kind to prepare me a birthday cake at the very short notice given by my wife without my knowledge. The food was awesome and all staff provided a good service.A special commendation should be given to Ms.Aruni who was so kind hearted and helpful. We enjoyed the stay a lot.The stay was worth for the price.Highly recommended.
Friendly and luxurious experience. This was our second visit to Suisse. Very helpful staff. Very concern about our kid, especially on meals. Very esay access to Kandy City and Dalada Maligawa. Highly recommended.
The hospitality received was absolutely first-class. All the staff and chefs were extremely accommodating to our every need, and handled the coronavirus situation very well. Beautiful, neat rooms and prompt service. Worth visiting for the delicious food alone, most ingredients being home grown. (A surprise birthday cake was quickly prepared on extremely short notice, and ended up tasting amazing). Also within walking distance (~15 mins) of many major religious and cultural landmarks including the Palace of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy National Museum and Cultural Arts Centre where valuable souvenirs are available to be bought. Staying here was an absolute joy, and loved every minute of it. 12/10 would recommend to anyone!
By the end of February 2020 I’ve spent one night at Hotel Suisse in Kandy. Beautiful colonial building with rich history... great location. My room was even too big for me – what a luxury! Every single detail made me feel good and very welcomed. From my balcony I was able to see the lake... such a wonderful place to stay. I was very tired, went for a dinner into the hotel restaurant – and there was Tyrone ready to give me some suggestions what would be nice to have on that night for a dinner. I had great dinner in such an amazing space, with Tyrone and all lovely stuff... Next morning I had amazing breakfast, sitting in the garden... Tyrone was there smiling and protecting my bread from the birds... It was such a lovely morning. Unforgettable. It is a pity that I did not have time to stay there longer. But I hope, I will go there back one day agai. Anyways, I want to recommend this hotel. It is very nice, designed with care & some melancholic touch, past and present are meeting there, it is clean, the stuff is so kind and lovely.... such a nice place. And if you go there – please say Hallo to all of them from me... and if you see Tyrone there, please tell him that I will never forget his smile, his kindness & his engagement and his obvious love for his job.…
This is an old colonial style hotel located opposite the lake in Kandy. Easy to get into the city centre on foot or for a walk around the lake. If a walk is too much in the heat then many Tuk Tuks available to take you. Nice food in the restaurant. Pleasant swimming pool. Would recommend a walk up to Helga's Folly for a drink circa 30 mins on foot.
