The Summit hotel is celebrated for its serene and immaculate atmosphere, complete with modern luxuries and picturesque views that captivate guests. The service at The Summit is generally lauded for the staff's warm and responsive nature, though a few guests have encountered booking snags. Rooms are consistently commended for their space, cleanliness, and stunning vistas, providing a lavish retreat.
While the amenities are well-regarded, particularly for the dining experience, opinions on value diverge; some guests deem the food pricey, yet others find the costs fair. Nestled in a tranquil, scenic spot, the hotel's location is ideal for exploring Kandy, despite its somewhat remote feel.

Great hotel in the hills overlooking the city, we did't realise how high it was until our ride brought us there!
Single track roads, often steep and vertiginous climb but worth the journey.
Amazing place, uninterupted views, 4 or 5 rooms, staff were so friendly, nothing was any trouble.
Many thanks to Kogel, he got us a tuk tuk on the first night to take us into
town and Mr Madhu the driver became our driver for the whole trip, driving us the long journeys to elephant orphanages
and tea plantations/factories in a tuk tuk or undeterminable age, truely an experience we'll not forget. If you're faint of heart
I'd recommend a cab instead as it was a little white knuckle at times! Fish curry at breakfast time, delicious. And we stayed in for dinner
one night, also recommended this as the menu is short but absolutely top quality. Overall, I'd recommend this place 100%.

We stayed in Summit for couple of days and this hotel is in a beautiful location. It’s very modern and our room was spacious and had a lovely balcony, I loved the unobstructed view of the whole Kandy city and entire Hunnas mountain range. The view was just breathtaking. The food was delicious as they had a superb in-house chef who does a great job. The staff was well mannered and the service provided to us was of the utmost quality. Each request is handled promptly and adequately.Over all me and my partner had a fantastic stay at the Summit as the purpose of our visit was to get out of this busy life in the city and relax and Summit went beyond our expectation and served the purpose. We will definitely visit this place again.

A wonderful hotel in a picturesque location. Very clean and romantic. Delicious and beautifully served food. Breakfast can be ordered to your room. Light jazz music creates a relaxing atmosphere in the lobby. The staff is mega friendly and loyal, all our wishes were fulfilled) The staff, at our request, provided a secluded room to work for several hours, and also organized a tuk-tuk for a tour of Kandy. The wide bed and bed linen deserve special attention - soft and fluffy, like a cloud. Thank you to the owners and staff for a wonderful 2 days at your hotel!

getting to the hotel is a small chore, but you are rewarded with a decent view. The hotel, isn't really a hotel. So i found it a little hard to find. Because it's a house that's been converted.
The rooms are a decent size, well decorated and offer great views of Kandy. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
It feels very chilled when sit out on your own private terrace. I'm not entirely sure that the hotel is worth it's high price though.
hmmm, well given the price of the room. you only get one towel, what's that about!
But the thing that stung and led me to leave a low mark was the food.
You're kind of a captive audience and the hotel know it, given it's location up in the hills.
The hotel offered a set dinner menu for LKR6000 ($20) per person. The usual price of a decent sized dinner is about LKR2000 per person.
So how was dinner you ask.. well, and when I tell you, I'm not joking in the slightest when i tell you what I was served.
so the d'oeuvres - A slice of white bread cut into the shape of a heart, on top of this romantically shaped bread. Three mini Ritz crackers (seriously) with cream cheese on top.
Then a small salad in a cocktail glass which was ok.
followed by Heinz tomato soup.
followed by some oven made, veggie burgers, with some creamy veg, which was clearly from a packet.
I was actually laughing when they were serving me these dishes, making it out to be something really posh.
So please hotel, bear in mind that you would have got a much higher score if you hadn't charged me and the other guests that were staying there $20 for something that was clearly worth $2. Ritz crackers! haha are you seriously joking with that.

Dear Guest thank you for taking time to write a review about us. Glad you liked the view of the city and surrounding from your room. However you were not happy with our food. The choices for vegetarian is limited thus we have included more vegetarian options since this review was made in order to serve our guests with more choices. Thank you once again.

First of all, it is not a hotel. It is a house, with 4 bed rooms and with bare minimum amenities, which is converted to a guest accommodation. Considering the amount charged, it is wastage of money. How they have managed to get very high rating is a surprise. The Owner has appointed few people to look after the property. If you are looking for a backpacker accommodation, this may suit you, but at a much lesser rent. In Booking.com, the property claims it is a 5 star hotel, which is a lie (we got trapped). They could not provide us even with a hair dryer. They cook some food in the kitchen and will give you (price high). You may imagine the variety. The free breakfast is just a Break-fast! If you are looking for comfort, think twice. Do not believe the descriptions.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights to see the sights of Kandy.
Wonderful spacious rooms with high ceilings and panoramic windows overlooking the city and mountains create a feeling of volume and freedom.
A wide, elastic bed, an airy blanket, soft pillows and cotton bed linen - what else is needed for a good sleep?
Delicious, generous breakfasts can be ordered directly to your room and enjoyed on the balcony with a wonderful view.
The hotel staff also took care of our dinners. We dined at the hotel twice, the guys cook very tasty and serve the dishes aesthetically. Prices are moderate.
If you prefer a bottle of wine with your steak, it is better to bring your own wine - the restaurant does not have a liquor license. But they will cool the alcohol to the required temperature and bring you a bucket of ice.
On the day of arrival, I had a three-hour conference planned online; they kindly provided me with a separate room where I could work in peace and quiet.
The hotel can organize a transfer to any point on the island, as well as a tuk-tuk for exploring the surrounding area of Kandy.
I remember my stay at this hotel with pleasure and gratitude to the caring and responsive staff. The next time I come to Kandy, I will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Summit! The view from our room was breathtaking, and the modern room design made it feel luxurious. The shower was excellent, with perfect water pressure, and the quality of the sheets and pillows ensured a comfortable sleep. The receptionists were very helpful and welcoming. The only downside was that it's a bit difficult to reach, but it's well worth the effort once you're there!

Since we only stayed one night, we couldn't used all the services but i am optimistic about overall experience. the view from the room balcony was phenomenal. All the stuff were very helpful and kind. The welcome drink that they serve was exceptional. The room was clean, ac working fine and compare to other places we stayed in Sri Lanka having individual water heater in the shower was a big plus.
But there couple of things we can suggest to The Summit management, there was no walk-in wardrobe in the room. For us this was not a big problem because we only stayed one night but for longer stays it can be very helpful and also there was no hair dryer in the room.
For the ones who are going to stay in this hotel please be prepared, if you want to consume alcohol you can't find because they don't have licence yet but again the stuff is very helpful for this situation.
