We stayed for 4 nights with our teenage boys and we all really enjoyed our stay. Some highlights: - The first morning, about 20 monkeys were passing by and noticed us in our cabana. They climbed onto the roof and peeked over the edge at us through the window. - We had a medical concern with one of our boys...

Very special destination in jungle setting. We stayed in a wooden treehouse style lodge surrounded by amazing wildlife. We did two treks, an easy through the local village and a medium in the Knuckle Mountains. Both were brilliant and both guides very knowledgeable and friendly. Great food. Enjoyed planting a tree with owners Nel and Nihal who made us very...

Besides the beautiful place, this is also a review about the beautiful people of Polwaththa. I saw only dedicated people, dedicated to give us the best holiday-time you can imagine with respect for the nature surrounding them. From bird-watching early in the morning to come up with cold drinks late in the evening: it was great! Thank you guys!

As part of a day trip trek I was taken here. If I had known about it I would have loved to have stayed for a couple of nights. Staff fabulous and took great care of me. Not commercial a true eco lodge experience. Had a choice of a 4km trek or 3km by tuk-tuk locally and 1km trek to...

We stayed at the Eco Lodges for two nights, in a cabin among the trees. The service was excellent, the staff was so kind and helpfull. We went to a guided trek with Themiya, he took us on a remote and beautiful trip. He really knows a lot, and care about the area. It was a great stay!

This was a great alternative from the routine of hotels, OK so you had to ask for hot water for a shower, no problem with that, just give the staff a couple of hours notice to build a fire and heat up a barrel, alternatively have a cold one or take a guided walk for 10km plus to the waterfall,...

Difficult to get to. Taxi and tuk tuk drivers have no idea where it is and the Lodge does nothing to facilitate transport to or from the Lodge. Every journey up and down the hill has to be paid for. We stayed in a 'Superior' Homestay. Not sure what an ordinary one would have been like. The room was spartan...

Your stay has been at the Home-stay and not at Polwaththa Eco-lodges. In promoting Community based Tourism, we try to get the locals to run their own Home-stay. Unfortunately, you have had a bad experience. We will get more involved in the running of the Home-stay until they can provide a more satisfactory service in the future.

Eco Lodges is perfect if the natural world and swimming in waterfalls is paradise for you,and what a team they have working here! Friendly faces are always present, making sure that you are happy and content whenever you are on site. They will help you to arrange day trips, cabs, tuk Tuks and offer a range of appealing activities! Beautiful location, lovely service, authentic experience, eco and community-minded initiative. The 'soft walk' via the spice village to the waterfall is highly recommended - just gorgeous. Ask to go to the handloom textile workshop and the gem cutters in nearby village too - support local makers and industries, and take home genuine souvenirs at the same time. Thanks to Nihal...

We booked 3 nights and even extended for another night because we liked it so much! :-) All cabanas are spread along the whole area, so you won't see or recognize any neighbours. Instead, you may watch plenty of birds, giant squirrels, monkeys...and staff will show you even more, e.g. wild pigs in the night. Amazing experience!! We booked several...
