I loved this place. It is in the most beautiful location, 20 minutes from Kandy by Tuktuk, and surrounded by tea plantations. The views of the hill country around Kandy are glorious. The proprietors, Sally, who spent her childhood in Sri Lanka, and Jerry, made me feel very much at home. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The food, cooked... More

Located on the same mountain side as the Tea Plantation there is the opportunity to walk and explore the immediate area. The locals are very friendly and enjoy interacting with visitors. The food is outstanding and in a month's stay there were no repeats! Excuse the pun. If wild life is your thing then just relax on your patio and... More

We are very grateful to Sally, Carolyn, Rani and Martin for a perfect and truly unique vacation. We could not have been taken care of any better. Sally helped us organize our trip to Sri Lanka long before we got there, providing us with precious information, including contact of a reliable driver for our trip from Colombo and around the... Found out about day trips to Jungletide from the Bamboo garden restaurant leaflet and decided to get away from the hectic Kandy life. We have just spent a wonderful day with Jerry and Sally, enjoyed tea on arrival, a tour of the gardens, a tour of the local village with guide Martin, saw a preschool, local living and the bakery... We spent a week at Jungle Tide with the very friendly and hospitable Jerry & Sally in their little escape up in the mountains just outside of Kandy City. What a blissful experience it was. Being able to wake up each day to the beautiful view of endless greenery and mountains with a lovely cup of tea, followed by a... More

We stayed for 4 nights with three small children and it was the most relaxed part of our whole holiday. Martin and Rani were fantastic, cooking phenomenal food and helping us with any request. The house is homely, beautiful and tranquil. There are some easy interesting walks around the house, though we spend most time relaxing in the garden or... More

A truly warm welcome awaits guests to Jungletide, host Jerry & Sally have a wealth of local experience and knowledge to share about Sri Lanka and perhaps life in general! The meals cooked by Rani and Martin were amongst the best and tips about making roti invaluable. Make sure you taste the Sri Lankan breakfast option, delicious! Pool, walks, gardens... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at Jungle Tide, from the charming welcome of Martin and Rani when the four of us arrived to the last evening spent playing hilarious after-dinner games with Sally and Jerry and their friends from Yorkshire (shared notes about recent tv dramas formed a leitmotif of our conversations!). We had three days of quiet there,... More
