We stayed for four nights in one of the villas with an infinity pool overlooking the valley. Breathtaking views, quiet, peaceful and deep in the jungle. One cool experience was listening to chanting from a temple in the valley as you watched the sun rise early each morning. We did have a few run ins with a crazy and aggressive monkey, however, that kept trying to get into our room! Although a bit scary, it was definitely one of the more memorable parts of our trip that we will never forget! Staff was professional for the most part, but they did continuously try to upsell us. We were understanding because of the economic conditions taking place in Sri Lanka at the time, but it did get old fairly quickly. Additionally, the all inclusive package we purchased included a private yoga session, free 30 minute massages, and daily yoga, but we did not receive any of these things. We reached out to management about them multiple times but never ended up hearing anything back. They also touted mountain bikes and hiking trails, but the resort was very small (thus no hiking or biking trails) and the hills way too steep for biking in circles. The food was fine, but they were out of many dishes on the menus or prepared them differently than what was described. They also did not have a full bar or could not make many drinks. Again, we had some understanding due to the economic and supply chain issues, but would have liked to be told about a few of these things upfront. Lastly, our package was to include food and non alcoholic beverages, but when we received our final bill, they had charged us for additional water bottles we asked for at the front bar. Apparently the two small bottles of water they put in your room each day is all that you get. I tried arguing this but the manager had some excuse as to why water wasn't include, I didn't feel like fighting further so just paid for them. Overall it was a positive experience, especially given the incredible views and serenity of the location, but there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to service. Go for the location, but don't expect the service of a true 5 star resort. If we were to do it again, we probably would only stay for 2 nights.…
Where do I even begin! The hotel is in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature, beautiful trees and flowers everywhere. A simple reception and a main pool where we had our breakfast and dinner with spectacular view. We stayed for 3 nights at the sky tented villa with our own private pool. Exceptional view, pool and hot tub in the middle of the jungle ! The bathroom was also outside the room in the jungle which was a unique experience to be honest! One of the hotel staff was kind enough to walk us through the jungle surrounding the hotel showing us the cinnamon, coffee, avocado and many other trees that they use its produce in their kitchen. The food was also great the staff super friendly the hotel facilities were great as well. Only downside was getting there as the road is very narrow but its very much worth every single second we spent there! Highly recommended for couples and honeymooners it was the best part of our stay in Sri Lanka and we never wanted to leave the room and even cancelled a couple of city trips with our guide for it!…
We came for 2 days to aarunya and honestly never wanted to leave. The resort is very high end with professional staff and chefs and wonderful amenities. The Villa was amazing with a wonderful view and infinity pool that overlooked a picturesque view. It is very quiet and romantic - perfect honeymoon/couples getaway; there aren’t much villas which allows you to receive top notch treatment and attention from the staff. The spa was wonderful and the food was amazing - special thanks to chef Lale for making me love eating fish! Will definitely come back for a longer stay!
Amazing hotel and top class service. The tented sky villa was truly unique and had every amenity we could need. The stand out here was the views from the room - you could see all across the valley and it felt extremely peaceful. Food was great at every meal and the staff could not do enough for us. The hotel Is out of the city centre which was perfect for us to balance the sightseeing with relaxation. Highly recommended for a Kandy stay!
Me and my partner were staying in the Aarunya and we had some of our best days in Sri Lanka! The resort is located in the middle of the stunning jungle, not far from Kandy. Its a very private and luxury kind of glamping experience. The food is incredible and the view from our private villa with a pool was just perfect to enjoy some romantic days. Loved also the yoga session that you can do every morning with a experienced balines yoga teacher who also does the best massages there. The staff is very professional and super friendly. In total a very beautiful and unique experience that we can highly recommend!

This nature resort and spa is just amazing, the staff is friendly and very helpful. They have good knowledge. We had an all inclusive package the food was very tasty and we especially enjoyed the floating breakfast. We had monkeys playing in the trees right outside our room and could watch the from the pool. We can only give this place our highest recommendation!
We ended our 10 day stay in Sri Lanka in March with a 4 night stay at Aarunya & it was just the relaxing stay we needed. We were in the Tented Sky Suite (Tamarind) and it was hard to leave! The bed was super comfy, the plunge pool and bath were amazing & the views could not be beat. We had so much fun watching monkeys eating jackfruit in the trees for hours a day. The breakfast delivery to the villa was a real treat as well. It's a beautiful property and we had a lovely stay.
We made a booking with Aarunya and then unfortunately had to cancel our whole trip to Sri Lanka due to the escalating political situation in the country. I have repeatedly requested to cancel the booking and have been ignored, although they have tried twice to take payment from me in advance. DO NOT BOOK! Unless you want to receive terrible service, be ignored and risk having your money taken without your consent.
The service was awesome, everyone was so kind and went above and beyond. I loved waking up to the monks chanting in the hills every morning. Such a beautiful property ❤️ I also loved our room which had an adjoining infinity pool and outdoor shower/bathtub which was awesome.
