Location is quite good. The room is ok, spacious for two people. You also have a kitchen you can use anytime and a large living room. Staff was nice. Wifi passwords were not working, bed wasquite soft and uncomfortable in my opinion. Toilet need a refurbishment. Water is scarce.

Charming old style property full of family momentous, including tusks of former family elephants and photos of semi royal dignitaries in the days of British rule. Contact Dan is helpful, intelligent and easy to talk to.

This bungalow is the pinnacle of Kandyan hospitality. Very friendly and delightful family. The house is furnished with over 150 yr old antiques. 100 m from Kandy lake. Clean rooms with toilets. Top floor has a kitchenette. Meals provided upon request. Bus stop close by. Highly recommended.

My friend and me stayed only one night at Lake Bungalow but we really enjoyed it. Spacious and beautiful rooms, Mosquito protection, towels, clean bathroom and wifi. Especially the beautiful terrace is perfect to get a little rest from long hikes or a long day in a bus. Thanks a lot to Dann for everything, he was helping us with... More

We stayed at the lake bungalow for one night. It is one of the most charming bunglow set in the heart of Kandy. We were welcomed by the daughter of the lady who runs the home (unfortunately did not remember her name). The house is 150 years old and is full of antique furniture and memories. We took two rooms... More

Just finished our stay on this great accomodation. People there are very kind and peaceful. We are two bacpackers and we felt like at home here. We had a nice tea time with the owners also and they helped us a lot and were very patient with us waiting on late night train from Kandy even we check out earlier.... More

Very central location right near the lake. The house was built by the British and belonged to a local tea plantation owner. So a bit of faded colonial glory. The room was large and the beds very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast, although not included in the price. There was a kitchen for guest use but it was dirty. The bathroom... More

We had an excellent stay at Lake Bungalow, and appreciated the fine hospitality and great location to the center of town. Highly recommend if travelling through Sri Lanka. Lake Bungalow was closeby to the famous Temple of the Tooth and the market square which made enjoying the city accessible and easy to organise. Meals here were also excellent. Baines Family

Lake Bungalow is the family home of the Dunuwille family and it is a privilege and a pleasure to experience their genuine Kandyan hospitality. No five star hotel with all its wonderful mod cons could ever give you this. Excellent location, steps away from Kandy Lake and the Malwatte Temple, a short walk from the Temple of the Tooth and... Lake bungalow is one of the most lovely places we have stayed during our travel through Sri Lanka. The house and rooms a very nicely furnished and make you feel like you are going back in time. The people who serve you are most gently and are very open to help you. Waking up here is heavenly with the birds... More
