While the hotel gives you a run down look, the staff there are well mannered and genuinely help. They go out of their way to make the guests feel comfortable. However, there were frequent power cut issues due to low voltage. This was certainly an issue. The food is great and we all enjoyed the same. Some floors are still... More

This was a charming little hotel with clean but basic rooms. Part of the garden is lovely with lots of orchids and lush tropical plants. However my A/C room overlooked a section of the garden which was a work in progress. There was a large menu of breakfast and dinner choices. I was well looked after by Kumannan who spoke... More

The best home cooked food we were had in Jaffna was only available at Pillaiyar Inn, we had buffet lunch and dinner at Pillaiyar Inn, we only stumbled across Pillaiyar Inn after aimless searching for a restaurant. We will recommend to anyone who love good south Indian food to visit Pillaiyar Inn, you will not be disappointed. freshly cooked and... More

My requirement was to spend the night and should be closer to town as I went to see the National Scouts Jamboree held at Jaffna. I would say my requirement met as it was walking distance to the jamboree and town and this is not a star class hotel. But luxury room provided to me was big enough and clean.... More

Compacted rooms, not that clean.service horrible. Food are ordinary. Garden view is bit relieving compared other services/places.its situated just 400 m from mid town. Management should think more action to upgrade and maintain to overcome the issue (This is my person request as an one of old customer of them)

Do not stay here. The price was 4000Rs (almost 30 dollar) for a double room: way to much! We left after one night because: - there were no sheets and a dirty matrass. We had to ask for it twice and we got two small blankets. There was no bedsheet. - the toilet did not work - the room was... More

Considering that we paid less than €50 per night for almost every hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka, and many were light years more welcoming, cozy and aesthetically pleasing than this, I have a hard time recommending the Pallaiyar Inn at their current rates. That said, it was sufficiently clean, the room had air conditioning, the Indian breakfast dishes... More

Pillaiyar Inn have two buildings. In the old building, which actually has some charm, they have standard rooms with aircon but we went for the better rooms in the newer building. Spacious rooms, very good mattress, aircon working fine and common fridge could be used. Good location and also serving good food. Offered some discount as we stayed 3 nights.... More
